Video: Interview with Flight 175 air traffic controller on 9/11

http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/VIDEO_Interview_with_911_Air_Traffic_0...

Dave Bottiglia is the air traffic controller who was responsible for tracking Flight 175, the second plane to hit the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Bottiglia remembers his experience in this ABC interview promoting the documentary Flight 175: As The World Watched which is scheduled to air on TLC on August 30.

ABC's Rob Simmelkjaer asked Bottiglia if the workers in the controller tower "realized" that the plane would be hitting the second tower of the WTC when it began losing altitude rapidly.

"We really didn't realize it was going for the other tower," said Bottiglia. "We just knew that he was heading towards Manhattan."

"We feared that he was gonna put it on the ground somewhere," Bottiglia continued.

Awesome!

This is what i've been waiting for! Official Conspiracy Theorists always ask "are you a structural engineer?" and "where are the structural engineers on this?" Now we have the above link to refer them to.

Thanks Jim Fetzer and Charles Pegelow!

Pegelow Interview

Well, I have to admit, you guys got a structural engineer to speak. Not a very convincing one, I'm afraid.

He seemed to base most of his beliefs on someone's comment that the building could withstand a 100-mph wind load with all the columns removed on one side. That kind of statement obviously had ONLY to do with the resistance to wind loading (not an issue here) and nothing to do with gravity loading. As such, it is completely hypothetical and irrelevant.

Pegelow didn't strike me as someone who had a good grasp of the situation inside the towers, saying that NIST concluded that the temperatures didn't rise above 500 degrees F due to the plane crash. That's not at all what NIST reported, besides being nonsensical in the context of the crash of a heavy commercial jet.

His assertion that steel truss floors can't collapse due to heat, because the concrete above takes care of compression, is just loony. The trusses went catenary before the floors failed. There was no compressive load on the floors. His saying that shear connections at the columns can't have failed because they were welded and not just bolted is equally loony. The welds were never designed to support the floor trusses gone catenary. Just because a connection is welded doesn't mean it can withstand any load.

Meanwhile, Fetzer goes foaming off at the mouth about 47 columns, explosions in the basement, thermate nano-bombs, etc., with Pegelow sitting mute, giving the misimpression that Pegelow believes all the ninja fantasy stuff. Pardon me, folks, but none of this is exactly authoritative.

One thing Pegelow mentioned that went completely over Fetzer's head was, that if you want to demolish a steel building, you first go through and cut all of the column flanges, leaving only the webs. The flanges are the largest and heaviest parts of the columns. It's a big job. When does Pegelow suppose these flanges were cut, in the WTC?

Catenary?

Hey, can you clarify that word: "catenary"? I've never read it in any scientific papers on the collapses.

"True enlightenment is attained when one can, at will, see through the illusion of reality." - Me, intoxicated

Catenary

From Wikipedia: "the catenary is the shape of a hanging flexible chain or cable when supported at its ends and acted upon by a uniform gravitational force".

I don't know whether NIST used that word, but that's what happens when a beam fails in tension (in this case due to high temperature): it becomes a cable.

Off topic post here, anyone

Off topic post here, anyone up for a good Truth Spanking?  Show this guy the way if you have a chance:

http://osamadiditgetalife.blogspot.com/

I say go for it if you want.

I say do it if you want. But after reading a few of his dumb "reasons why Osama did it", then quickly scrolling down his blog page, he only has 13 blog comments in total lol. 8 comments in his Moussaoui post. And 5 comments in the very bottom post lol.

He doesn't appear to be very important.

Re: Somebigguy

Done.

Fetzer is brilliant, I don't

Fetzer is brilliant, I don't get the beef some ppl have with him. That scrutiny needs, if its going to be focused on anybody, to be focused on clowns like Reynolds, I mean what a f*cktard that guy is lol. Also, and this is usual for me but I love that 60's music used on "non random thoughts", its not my generation's music but its kind of cool in a way.

Fetzer is the man imo.

i agree man, it seems like you and me are about the only people here that appreciate Fetzer.

He's just a good guy, from

He's just a good guy, from my perspective he's had a hugely positive affect. The only things I'd criticise him for are having “wingtv” linked to st911.org, and a couple of dumb things he's said while being interviewed on the radio etc. But everyone makes mistakes and like weigh that shit up to Mr "no plane" ex-bush admin snake in the grass Morgan Reynolds, that guy's a professional f*cktard lol.

Anyway check it I've debunked Nico and his "no planes" bs right here;

^ Not a very difficult thing to do.

Fetzer is one of the best.

Fetzer is one of the best. He started 911 Scholars, one of the most important events.

I used to like Reynolds too, but after that article. I'm considering if he may be a Gov't shill?

Jim Fetzer

I too have much appreciation for Mr. Fetzer. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. The man has courage and I find no reason to doubt his sincerity unlike some others, ie: Reynolds. Fetzer has my support.

I'm a big fan of Jim Fetzer

I'm a big fan of Jim Fetzer and think that he's committed to finding the truth, whatever it may be. I really love his tenacity and the passion that he brings. I look forward to hearing him each week on Non-Random Thoughts.

All the music on the Fetzer

All the music on the Fetzer show is by the Beatles, i believe.

"Fetzer is brilliant, I

"Fetzer is brilliant, I don't get the beef some ppl have with him"

my first exposure to him was his "top ten reasons why the hijackers are fake" thing on the CSPAN broadcast. While i mostly agree with what he says, i think its a bad move to focus in on things such as fake passengers, fake planes, and fake hijackers. It doesnt help to add credibility to the movement. But after a couple listens to his radio show i have changed my tune about Fetzer and now appreciate his contributions very much. It was definitly a bad first impression for me, but im not sure what other people's beef is.

LARRY SILVERSTONE UNDER INVESTIGATION REGARDING 911??

A interesting article from last year I had came across.

Silverslime under investigation

Great article TT. I hope it is true. Can it be verified?

I have a question about high rise buildings

I'm having a discussion on a forum somewhere about 9/11 and this guy who says he worked in the WTC towers, says that it was a well known fact that the buildings had built-in explosives to control detonate the towers in case of a disaster to prevent it from toppling over. According to him it was part of the design.

He goes further on to say that it is no secret, that it is relatively normal for high rise buildings to have built-in explosives so it can be demolished in a controlled way after an earthquake or something of the like. According to him the reason the explosives went off is simple because the buildings started to collapse.

I'm having a hard time believing this. I can't believe this is legal. Aside the problems building owners would get themselves in if these explosives went off by accident or some other reason, who in the hell would want to work in such a building??

Besides if this was the case, why doesn't FEMA, NIST or the 9/11 commission admit to this if it is so normal for high rise buildings to have built-in explosives? On top of that WTC 5 and WTC 6 had more damage than WTC 7 but yet remained standing.

Is there anyone here or knows someone who worked in the WTC towers who can confirm if built-in explosives were part of the design? or know anything about built-in explosives in high rise buildings?

Built in explosives

That is total BS and not even worth a reply. Find out what he's smoking, I want some.

4:20 already... I haven't had lunch yet.

"The truth shall make you free." Why not make the truth free? We live on a priceless blue pearl, awash in a universe of fire and ice. Cut the crap.

Pre vs. post.

It's certainly neither legal, legitimate, nor sane. The same discussion took place right after 9/11 where the twist included "top secret" operatives taking over elements of construction. Real or not, this forms another fantastic side-line of inquest leading to a literal or figurative dead end.

I would advise to trump it with "makes no difference". Such pre-planning could never be justified before a proper jury. And tin-darts and lamp-oil didn't bring the building down. Re-focus upon motive and out-come of the 9/11 event as a whole. Whatever motives are tossed up, they will always be judged as means vs. ends.

The subsequent "defense" of America through loss of life and treasure, is having a very difficult time being "rationalized" by measure of loss leading up to and including 9/11.

Just my two cents.

"The truth shall make you free." Why not make the truth free? We live on a priceless blue pearl, awash in a universe of fire and ice. Cut the crap.

Disaster controlled collapse explosives

Anonymous, the idea of pre-planted explosives for possible disasters sounds like disinfo to Me...but if there is someone who would know this,it would be William Rodriguez. He worked there long enough to have heard this if it were true, plus He had many friends working there, who if they heard it, would have mentioned it to him.

As Groucho said....

That's the most ridiculous thing I ever heard of.

Mentioned the idea....

about pre-planted explosives here in New York...saying that such an excuse could become a cover-up story i.e...."oh well, it was a mistake, there were pre-planted explosives......."

And got laughed at, right to my face: "Yea, the insurance companies and the tenants would really love that!""Oh, that's a good story, but is absurd on its face."

I can't gauge anymore what people will think is ridiculous.

I can't believe people go for the collapse idea --- "the trusses failed," when the building obviously exploded.

So who knows? The government gets by with a lot of crazy stories. Maybe they'd try this one as well. The passport of the terrorist in the street was a pretty bad lie and they got away with it so far.

There is a man who worked on the "pile" here who says while he was in the building before it collapsed he saw a stewardess with her throat cut strapped into a airplane seat on the top of one of the buildings nearby. In other words, he looked out the window, in the 15 or so minutes between the collapses, and saw a chair with a stewardess strapped in that had flown out of the building event and landed upright on the top of a nearby building.

We've got him on tape in public giving a speech where he states this. (I don't want to go into the rest of this person's bio, but he is also the person who just happened to find the American Flag in the rubble and many other coincidences). But anyway, people bought his story (except me.)

I think people will, under the right conditions, believe almost any story. :) Think "War of the Worlds."

Bush and Saddam Should Both Stand Trial, Says Nuremberg Prosecutor

By Aaron Glantz,

08/25/06 "OneWorld " --- A chief prosecutor of Nazi war crimes at Nuremberg has said George W. Bush should be tried for war crimes along with Saddam Hussein. Benjamin Ferenccz, who secured convictions for 22 Nazi officers for their work in orchestrating the death squads that killed more than 1 million people, told OneWorld both Bush and Saddam should be tried for starting "aggressive" wars--Saddam for his 1990 attack on Kuwait and Bush for his 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Fetzer, please ask this:

Jim Fetzer: Thanks for finding this structural engineer, and thanks for the interview. The next time you have Pegelow on your show, please ask these questions:

Why are there not more structural engineers speaking out about this?

What are the pressures that keep people from talking?

Also, do you think you can convince other structural engineers to speak out?

Charles Pegelow is not a

Charles Pegelow is not a structural engineer. His California license is for a civil engineer, not structural. Yes, there is a difference.
