On Wednesday, May 26th, 2004, you featured a "debate" between Chip Berlet and author David Ray Griffin - "The New Pearl Harbor: A Debate On A New Book That Alleges The Bush Administration Was Behind The 9/11 Attacks" - (Link.)
Many people who have been following skepticism of the "official story" of 9/11 were deeply disappointed by this lopsided "debate", which more or less concluded with this challenge by Amy Goodman;
AMY GOODMAN: Name just one. Name just one structural engineering expert who said it is not feasible that the planes caused the towers to go down.
You will be pleased to note that we can name one now, his name is Charles N. Pegelow, you can read his resume here.
Since naming one "just one" Structural Engineer "who said it is not feasible that the planes caused the towers to go down" seems to be some sort of litmus test for Democracy Now!, surely it's time for a rematch. Or at the very least, a serious critical examination of the mountain of evidence that suggests that the "official" story of 9/11 (as recorded by the 9/11 Commission in their Report) should be undertaken, (finally), by Democracy Now!?
Or, are the rumors that foundation funding will stop if Democracy Now! undertakes a serious examination of alternative 9/11 theories, (Referred to by many as "9/11 Truth") true?
Is a lop-sided hit-piece debate seriously the best we can expect from D-Now!?
Are you aware that a Professor of Economics (Paul Zarembka) has studied publicly available data regarding the "put" option rumors that arose after 9/11 and found that "indeed, there is evidence of insider trading before 9-11 on American Airlines and United Airlines."
Are you aware that one of the most astute researchers of British and American covert operations writing today (Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed) has spent 5 years researching al-Qaeda & 9/11 and concluded that, "It (al-Qaeda) has no existence as an independent concrete entity. It designates a highly developed category of Western covert operations designed to secure destabilization through the creation, multiplication, mobilization, and manipulation of disparate mujahideen groups. The evidence suggests that this was certainly the case on 9-11."
Are you aware of the large data dump of First-Responder oral histories made public last year by the New York Times? Here are some samples;

Democracy Now! broadcasts from a former N.Y.F.D. Firehouse, shouldn't this testimony be considered merely out of respect for the many NY fire personnel who died on duty on 9/11?
How can you just ignore it? Downplay it? Ridicule it? Belittle it?
I hope that others will join me in asking Democracy Now! to wake up, clear the fog, abandon the propaganda, and start asking some serious questions about what happened to this country on 9/11/2001.

Its bad enough that she never talks about 9/11 on her show, which is so popular and on a zillion radio stations and tv stations but she's having a book launch party that night with food and music. The event description, (copied and pasted below from the link from the Democracy Now website) does not mention 9/11 at all, though it is taking place on the evening of 9/11. It treats that date like just another day.
No matter what version of the 9/11 story you believe, whether you are a 9/11 truther or still cling to the official version, it seems pretty oblivious, unfeeling and in bad taste to have a book launch party that night. Its a solemn anniversary----a time to reflect, commemorate the nearly 3000 people who died. Can't you just see the tv/radio story the next day the next day making fun of her.

Just got my tickets for the whole Democracy Now event. Including the wine and jazz hob-nobbing reception.Would any one else like to join me or offer suggestions on how best to utilize this situation for 911 Truth and open the left wing gates? Still, she was one of the two journalists who were present in the Vera Cruz massacre, in East Timor, in the early 90's, and brought it into world knowledge (though most of american media ignored it, until a videotape showed up). Also, in the late 90's, one of her coleagues found out, through secret cables back and forth the US and Indonesia, that the Indonesian were behind the attacks by milicias in East Timor at that time (after the referendum), and were being supported (not tactically) by the US.

I would like to get some facts straight about Payne Stewart interception. Please help me. According to the above document:
09:33 EDT – The first time something was noted wrong: controller instructed Payne to change radio frequencies and contact another controller, but there was no response. About 1010 EDT, the accident airplane crossed from the EDT zone to the CDT zone in the vicinity of Eufaula, Alabama. About 0952 CDT (1052 EDT) a USAF F-16 test pilot from the 40th Flight Test Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base (AFB), Florida, was vectored to within 8 nm of N47BA.8 About 0954 CDT (1054 EDT), at a range of 2,000 feet from the accident airplane and an altitude of about 46,400 feet,9 the test pilot made two radio calls to N47BA but did not receive a response. About 1000 CDT (1100 EDT), the test pilot began a visual inspection of N47BA.
This means that according to this document, as I understand it, it took almost 90 minutes between first notice of something wrong, and a visual inspection by a jet fighter.
I know that some have claimed this was 30 minutes, but it appears that according to this document, because of the change in time zones, the actual time to visual inspection was 90 minutes.
Could somebody please let me know if this document is inaccurate or my understanding of the time to interception is inaccurate.

Payne Stewart interception
I was living in Sarasota at the time and the Stewart plane event received a lot of coverage. The plane had reached cruising altitude when contact was lost. Interception took place in less than 20 minutes, while the plane was still in Florida airspace, and fighters accompanied it all the way across country until it ran out of gas and crashed in the upper Mid-West. From take-off to intercept may have been about 30 minutes. It was not on the order of 90 minutes but much quicker. This personal recollection should be easy to verify on the basis of many contemporary news accounts in Floria newspapers.

Maybe its time to pull a rabbit out of the hole they hide in & catch it, decapitate it, drain its blood, skin it, gut it & use its flesh as food to feed the people, could you just image how good the people will feel when they see food on the table & its this rabbit we trapped together & put in a stew pot on a TV Cook Show staring the Rabbit! this goes for all the rabbits & the Rats we need to trap! Set them up!
It is so easy to tarp a rabbit, how you say? they get so careless & its too easy With a wire snare trap i.e. hidden video cam, cell phones, wire taps etc, WHY not? they do it to us & was it not Monica L. that got Prez Clinton with his pants down?

Find its weakness, look at all avenues of escape that it will use & set the traps!

One of the good things that have been the result of the 911 movement is that the left/liberal gatekeepers has been exposed.

There is ALWAYS opposition to war, and governments always expect it. An opposition that is just people writing columns and jawing on radio is GREAT for the war mongerers. They could care less.
And with 9/11, you have an issue that would stop the war criminals and profiteers cold. And with all the facts on our side, all it would take is for the left gate-keepers to stop and bring 9/11 truth out into the forefront. It would be over.
How to reach Amy Goodman's radio audience
Last week I called in to WPFW (202 588-0893)in Washington DC. They have open phones for 30 minutes immediately after Goodman's show. I addressed our concerns about Goodman's continuing lack of coverage of 9/11.
See what stations carry her show in your area. Call them as soon as her show is over to voice your concerns. Then you will reach some of her audience before they switch off/ change channel. If the local stations get more calls perhaps her handlers will allow her to do a story.

I am a sponsor of DN! in Reno, NV. I am considering pulling the show off the air because of DN!'s 9-11 Truth black hole. I have repeatedly inquired to DN! about their lack of 9/11 investigation or coverage of 9/11 Truth Movement, and about foundation funding keeping them silent. I have gotten no legitimate response, and I am one of their local programmers. I am truly disappointed in DN! and hope they will see the light before we have another 9/11 marshal law imposing - Iran invading - civil liberty erasing event. Wake up Amy!

instead of a total pull of DN!, why not try this?
Instead of completely axing DN!, why not chop off the last 10 minutes of the show (or the last interview or "big story" segment; there's usually 3-4 per show) and substitute 911 news? You could do this once per week, twice per week, ... 5x times per week.
Since the DN! shows are archived, listeners can go online and get that last segment.
Following my suggestion would allow you to:
1) leverage the DN! popularity (don't assume that whateveryou replace DN! with will have nearly as many listeners)
2) show up DN! and Amy Goodman as the left gatekeepers that they are
3) help to spread 911 Truth without overdoing it; I do NOT assume that everybody wants to hear 911 topics 5 hours per week.

I expected as much from Berlet, as he has made a whole career out of smearing people. What else would he do? When all you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Of course Berlet can't name this study. If you wrote him like I did to find out what study it was, you got a dismissive mass response with a link to a fucking snopes page a few days later. (pardon my language for mentioning snopes)
I'll write Ms. Goodman post haste to demand a re-schedule of this "debate". Maybe Mr. Berlet can find his "publicly available forensic engineering study" now too.
Oh, and maybe they could actually talk about Griffin's actual approach and reasoning (which in no way hinges on the tower collapses) this time too.

The reason that Democracy Now hasn't been covering 9/11 the way you want them to is because the reporters at that show know that there is no story there. You people are at best wrong in your claims.
And I do not like the violent tone of some of the comments in this thread. Are you going to beat up Ms. Goodman to make her see the "truth"? Is that the way to convince anyone of anything? It's certainly not acceptable behavior. But I shouldn't be surprised, since that is a typical tactic of the Right.
