In spite of the numerous commissions, studies, books, films, and seemingly endless public discussion of this signal event, a great deal of the facts surrounding the 9/11 attacks remain shrouded in mystery. And of course, this has given rise to a whole panoply of conspiracy theories, conjectures, and alternative narratives that have continuously threatened to overtake the official story and replace it with something far darker and more ambiguous.

I, for one, fail to understand how the hijackers, with minimal technical skill and arms, managed to take over four airliners and – with superb timing and pinpoint accuracy – ram them into such high-value targets with absolutely no outside help. Not that there haven’t been intimations of such help. Was the Bush administration aware of some form of outside assistance (perhaps indirect, albeit intentional), possibly from state actors, and determined to keep it under wraps?

The Blackmail Potential Is The Salient Issue

Anything KSM says is questionable, to put it mildly. It's not just that he was tortured repeatedly. The US government is holding his two sons.

According to the Sunday Telegraph of London on March 9, 2003:

"The boys [Yousef al-Khalid, 9, and his brother, Abed al-Khalid, 7] have been held by the Pakistani authorities but…they were flown to America where they will be questioned about their father. CIA interrogators confirmed that the boys were staying at a secret address where they were being encouraged to talk about their father's activities.

As far as I know Obama has not rejected Yoo's "interpretation" of the law.

I haven't seen anything to indicate the boys have been released.

If the Obama administration were smart they'd release KSM's boys before this trail starts to ensure no further damage to his testimony is done by the continued incarceration of his sons. Not that it would really matter though. KSM's testimony is already discredited.

There are indeed many unanswered questions and thus, understandably, various theories. Crucially, there are also facts, brought to light by scientific analysis of forensic evidence from the World Trade Center.

The evidence, in the form of preserved samples of the fine dust produced by the destruction of the Twin Towers and building 7, is that an advanced, military-grade material was involved in bringing them down. Theories are no longer necessary. A full, independent investigation is.

Better late than never

Who knows how much of a grasp Raimondo has of the alternative research regarding 9/11, after years of apparently accepting the basic outlines of the official story. The fact that he is here speaking plainly about critical views of the official version of 9/11 without heaping scorn upon them (which he could typically be relied upon to do previously) is a most welcome change all by itself.

Raimondo is a very smart man. He also is very well informed. Do you really think he believes airplanes destroyed the world trade center?
There are plenty of people like this in the so-called "alternative" media...
Cockburn, Amy Goodman come to mind but their are dozens of others...
As the "official story" becomes more and more thread bare (could it become less believable????) more and more "brave" journalists will weigh in on this topic...suddenly finding a lot of information that has been in their faces for years...
I personally am waiting breathlessly for the day when Bill Maher does a 911 media comedy hour...Now that would be funny!

Raimondo

Is a fake,,,a sort of damage control mechanism.Fake anti war and a guy who makes money writing phony books.He is kinda like Gnome Chumpsky.

Note who often his anitwar site has the hand out asking for money,,maybe he should go get a real fucking job if he wants cash,,,although he´s probably on the government payroll anyway.
