On the Record: Former FBI Agent Coleen Rowley Calls for a New 9/11 Investigation

Parts 2 and 3 of TheRealNews interview with Coleen Rowley are being reposted from Waarheid911’s blog entry of Part 1 on 10/23/2009. My comment there triggered a long discussion about controlled demolition, which unfortunately pushed these two important videos to the end of the section.

Leaving aside the issue of CD, on which she claims no expertise, Attorney Rowley discusses the importance of uncovering the “full truth” about 9/11 to reverse the overreactive policies of the Bush administration: preemptive war, torture, government spying and secrecy, and curtailment of civil liberties.

If we don’t demand accountability about how and why 9/11 happened, she explains, we set a dangerous precedent for this country, where torture becomes a loaded pistol left on the kitchen table for anyone to use down the road, and the people who authorized it are rewarded with promotions and lucrative careers.

She admits the 9/11 Commission “did not go far enough,” because of enormous constraints of time and resources. She calls for a new investigation and is fully committed to finding the truth—for the sake of the victims and their families, the first responders, and the cause of justice.

While some may criticize Rowley (as I have) for not publicly challenging the cover story about al Qaeda, Bin Laden and 19 hijackers, her demand for a new investigation is a necessary first step, and it stands as a strong statement on the record by one of America’s most famous 9/11 whistleblowers. As such it should be applauded.

Part 3

Rowley

needs to go further.

The CIA, NSA, FBI have to be cleaned up.

Hard to tell what Rowley knows

She said that she thought the DOJ IG report got it mostly right. The DOJ IG basically concluded risk aversion, incompetence, misunderstandings, etc. There is no way. We don't know what the RFU and UBLU units were doing. One, none of the agents involved in withholding decision issues have come forward to explain their conduct. FBI agents Rossini and Miller did come forward to state that they were given a bogus rationale by CIA supervisors. Two, AFAIK all the 9/11 Commission interview summaries with Alec Station, FBI RFU and UBLU agents are still pending classification review.

The hypocrisy is off the charts. Citizens are expected to give up their privacy because the intel community claims they must have police state powers to prevent terrorist attacks. OTOH, intelligence officials involved in outrageous pre-9/11 conduct refuse to answer to the public. Why is it acceptable for Congress to renew the Patriot Act eight years after 9/11 while the public remains ignorant due to abuse of national security classification procedures and an incurious mainstream media?

Agents

now there's a group we don't have yet............. FBI & CIA agents for 911 truth....

FBI & CIA agents for 911 truth

We need them along with NSA & Secret Service.

There are plenty of brave, honest people in these agencys that know.

They need to rise up & help cut the rotten cancer out of our/their fabric.

VIVA AMERICA!!!

We need a FBI & CIA agents for 911 truth to go forward

Excellent summary, USAPatriot

Rowley has spoken out in numerous venues about what she saw, and also for whistleblowers rights and the importance of transparency and accountability- all good, necessary things.

When pressed, she's said she believes FBI supervisors and officials obstruction of investigations that MN agents KNEW were crucially important was due to 'careerism', i.e. playing it safe rather than risking making a mistake and jeopardizing their career path, and not due to anything nefarious. However, she's calling for a new investigation, and I get the impression she wouldn't obstruct a new investigation, or allow it to be compromised, if she had influence- she would let it go where the evidence leads.

Her cautiousness and stand on only supporting a new investigation may be due to her legal training- considering what opposition lawyers and PR might be able to do if she sticks her neck out more than that.

A full investigation is in order- witnesses, documents and other evidence need to be subpoenaed- and it needs to be accountable to the public, according to a method that will be accepted as legitimate by the People- a Grand Jury, Congress, International Court, Truth and Reconciliation Commission, etc.

Why isn't Rowley working w/ Jessie Ventura?

There both MN finest. Could be quite an EFFECTIVE team (IMO)

Investigation needed -- inside job or not

This is what matters: "her demand for a new investigation is a necessary first step"--and if that's all we can get in such cases, it's enough.

The arguments for a real investigation need not depend on everyone being convinced (or willing to publicly acknowledge) 9/11 was an inside job.

Because even if the "gist" of the story were true--a completely surprise attack organized solely by al-Qaeda--the Federal government's (and the military's) mishandling of this crime has been so egregious, marked by so much dissembling and obvious criminal misbehavior, that an investigation would STILL be warranted. Any of the following reasons should be sufficient:

1. The largest removal and destruction of physical evidence from a crime scene in history.

2. The fact that the government has handed us not less than THREE mutually contradictory accounts of how these attacks succeeded without military intervention--each story more ludicrous than the one before. (Why for example has nobody been prosecuted for perjury for lies told under oath?)

3. The fact that no one at NORAD or the FAA or the FBI has been fired, or even publicly reprimanded, for the way they botched their jobs--indeed, some key players in the "failures" leading to and allegedly made on 9/11 have even been promoted and given awards.

Three examples out of hundreds that can be made. Any of these should be grounds for investigation by themselves.

The information provided by Colleen Rowley by itself provides sufficient grounds for an investigation, which may resonate even with people who still believe in the "gist" of the official conspiracy theory. Fine--whatever arguments are necessary to convince people of the need for a real investigation, we should use them! Even as we continue pointing to the totality of evidence.

Thanks Coleen...

For this excellent interview, and for speaking to what you know. It adds to your credibility.

Edit: Here is Kevin Fenton's reaction to her interview.

Do these people deserve to know how and why their loved ones were murdered? The facts speak for themselves.

Thanks Coleen

Glad to see this on here. :)

Also, does anyone know of the possible connections that can be made with thgis new info OR any thoughts on this possibly being disinfo planted on purpose: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091029/ap_on_re_as/as_pakistan_inside_wazir...
