Little known fact about Time Magazine.

Some of us may have heard of Henry Luce, an ardent supporter of Fascism and former owner of Time Magazine. What about the Post War era?

"During the Second World War CD Jackson served as special assistant to the Ambassador to Turkey before joining the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) in 1943. The following year he was appointed Deputy Chief at the Psychological Warfare Division at Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force (SHAEF).

After the war, Jackson became Managing Director of Time-Life International. In 1948 Frank Wisner, who worked with Jackson in the OSS, was appointed as director of the Office of Special Projects. Soon afterwards it was renamed the Office of Policy Coordination (OPC). This became the espionage and counter-intelligence branch of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Wisner also established Operation Mockingbird, a program to influence the domestic American media. Wisner asked Philip Graham of the Washington Post to run the project within the newspaper industry. Jackson was also recruited and according to Deborah Davis (Katharine the Great: Katharine Graham and the Washington Post: "By the early 1950s, Wisner 'owned' respected members of the New York Times, Newsweek, CBS and other communications vehicles."

CD Jackson was not alone. A large number of psyops personnel from the OWI went on to become editors of major magazines, newspapers, founders of prominent tanks, and even filmmakers.

This actually follows a classic pattern established by Ivy Lee, Edward Bernays and Walter Lippman (the "dean of American journalism"), all of whom served on the Creel Committe during WWI and went on to develop the arts of journalism, public relations and communication science.

A "free press" this is not.

There are probably several marketing objectives with this article. Besides targeting the general public, I think a strong purpose is to also target other news media. In targeting other news media, Time is trying to create an impression that even mentioning the subject of a non-official conspiracy theory is a silly notion. There is a strong inclination by independent media to not even mention alternative ideas about 9/11. They are timid about treading those waters. The Time article might be trying to keep that stigma going with other Press. I am continually astounded by the number of people out here on the street who know about 9/11 Truth...our numbers are growing at a rapid rate.

For what its worth, I wrote to the Editor of Time Magazine. The letter went as follows:

Dear Editor,

Your conflation of those who question the official 9/11 explanation alongside such idiocy as the "faked moon landings" and "holocaust denial" is utterly inappropriate, a piece of gross intellectual cowardice, showing total disregard of the facts. In short, your piece of 7th grade weasel journalism is a crass insult to the American people, a one finger jab at the deceased, as well as those who lost loved ones on that ghastly day.

Yes, 9/11 was a conspiracy, of that there is no doubt. The Government's conspiracy theory claims that the attacks were executed by "19 arabs, with total surprise". In other words, they singlehandedly took on the world's most powerful military, security and intelligence apparatus in their own front living room, with many dozens of agencies simultaneously completely failing to do what they do best. To add insult to injury, these clever guys (whose "best pilot", Hani Hanjour, was barely able to control a Cessna in level flight), somehow managed to suspend the laws of gravity, conservation of momentum and thermodynamics, for two hours, at a stroke.

In the aftermath, the Bush Administration refused to authorize any investigation until 441 days after the event. (May we wonder why?). When the 9/11 Commission grudgingly got the go-ahead, it was cripplingly underfunded and placed under severe time constraints. Witnesses were threatened and intimidated by government "minders" throughout the process. 90% of the witnesses' testimony was rejected out of hand because it failed to conform to the clearly preordained conclusion that Executive Director Philip Zelikow had laid out. The two co-chairs claim that the 9/11 Commission was "set up to fail". Commissioners claim that they were lied to by the White House, the Pentagon and NORAD. Some Commissioners resigned in disgust, including Sen. Patrick Leahy. Senior Counsel to the Commission John Farmer said that the "greater part of the findings at the Commission are untrue". In short the 9/11 Commission, was a classic example of what is known in the scientific community as "dry-labbing". In other words, they cheated.

There is a wealth of scientifically verifiable and soundly researched material that renders the official explanation very shaky at best, or at worst, a complete lie. Time Magazine however, for reasons I would prefer not to speculate upon (I am not a conspiracy theorist), has decided that citing problematic or controversial material that could implicate persons other than the 19 alleged hijackers, is taboo and must be discredited at all costs. The fashionable method to accomplish this is by direct association with nonsensical gibberish, the likes of which appear in supermarket tabloids. Furthermore Time Magazine is seemingly unable to distinguish between "asking questions" and "making speculative pronouncements", alongside the rest of the corporate media which has adopted this same infantile attitude.

I feel that in the light of the failure of the 9/11 Commission to properly investigate the worst ever crime of US soil, a new independent inquiry with full subpoena power must be set up to get this nasty affair behind us all. The rancour that 9/11 has generated is dividing this country down the middle, and we are now in the intolerable situation that the mass murder of almost 3000 people and the wanton destruction of some $20 billion of real estate remains unaddressed, unsolved, and unpunished. Does Time Magazne support a new inquiry? If so, and if Time has any sense of patriotism and justice, the answer is plain. If not, then it is quite possible that unknowingly and unwittingly, Time Magazine is protecting some people who should be behind bars. So, come on Time Magazine, step up to the plate and support your country. Surely you're not scared to do that?

Will they publish that, or any other skeptical heresy? Probably little chance (!!). But I hope they are getting a bunch of correspondence on this issue. It may get someone in the Time Warner Ivory Tower thinking rationally.

Congrats Truthers...9/11 Truth sits right behind the JFK assassination in the minds of citizens. This means that our work is paying off and the public is aware of our positions.

The TRUTH is...that once people examine the evidence, they almost always conclude that 9/11 was an inside job...and...

Since the vast majority of citizens believe that their government was part of the JFK hit, it means that those who think 9/11 was helped-orchastrated by elements within our own government have already gotten past THE major obstacle that we face when doing 9/11 CI...[Civil Informationing in the streets...ie: the denial of such!

I feel that Time is doing us a great favor by noting JFK with 9/11 right behind it but, getting a citizen to express this publically or to do something about it is another story .

So, we just still have to keep the information flowing out there until the average citizen does want to step up and become more active.

Perhaps its a good reminder that the VAST number of citizens back in the 60s-70s, when so many new initiatives were born, were NOT very public at all. It was a small minority of "activists" that stirred the pot by being in the streets...and they were the Truthers back then. So, I do not expect all citizenry to become overtly active regarding 9/11 Truth...but 9/11 TRUTH will have positive effects down the road when changes are needed.

Its a good sign that Time and all the corporate media still have to put their fingers in the dikes to hold us back. Soon, they will be running out of fingers as we penetrate AND go around the dikes that they have erected to hold us back.

I suggest that now is the right time to consider the following:

"9/11 TRUTH for World PEACE"

...and my new catch phrase that works pretty well in the streets:

"We CAN handle the TRUTH:
that's why they keep lying to us..."

This Time piece can help us through wide exposure. Keep being persistent and persuasive. Push 9/11 Truth with the most convincing, science-based data. Leave people with the following impression, "Wow, this is more than a kooky idea." Only our best information can do this; there is no room for weak arguments here.
