Washington Post: Government Lied about 9/11

The Washington Post has a story today about how the Government lied about the military response to 9/11 (free subscription required). The story is also covered by Raw Story

Some staff members and commissioners of the Sept. 11 panel concluded that the Pentagon's initial story of how it reacted to the 2001 terrorist attacks may have been part of a deliberate effort to mislead the commission and the public rather than a reflection of the fog of events on that day, according to sources involved in the debate.

Suspicion of wrongdoing ran so deep that the 10-member commission, in a secret meeting at the end of its tenure in summer 2004, debated referring the matter to the Justice Department for criminal investigation, according to several commission sources.

"We to this day don't know why NORAD [the North American Aerospace Command] told us what they told us," said Thomas H. Kean, the former New Jersey Republican governor who led the commission. "It was just so far from the truth. . . . It's one of those loose ends that never got tied."

"I was shocked at how different the truth was from the way it was described," John Farmer, a former New Jersey attorney general who led the staff inquiry into events on Sept. 11, said in a recent interview. "The tapes told a radically different story from what had been told to us and the public for two years. . . . This is not spin. This is not true."

John F. Lehman, a Republican commission member and former Navy secretary, said in a recent interview that he believed the panel may have been lied to but that he did not believe the evidence was sufficient to support a criminal referral.

"My view of that was that whether it was willful or just the fog of stupid bureaucracy, I don't know," Lehman said. "But in the order of magnitude of things, going after bureaucrats because they misled the commission didn't seem to make sense to me."

Somebody's starting to feel

Somebody's starting to feel the fire under their feet.
Before the truth about 9/11 can sink its teeth into anyone within the administration, they will divert attention away from the executive office by pinning it on the military. Possibly even going all the way up the chain of command into the pentagon. Still, there are far too many other questions that remain. Military operations don't account for everything that day.
But by making it a military issue, they are attempting to keep it quarantined.

a letter to the editor in a newspaper suggested something interesting:

The israelis want an ARMED and READY-to-kill UNITED NATIONS force in south lebanon buffer zone.

The UN soldiers are there to protect Israeli people, civilian and military infrastructure from the Hizbollah rockets.

Then the same UN soldiers should be also equipped with Surface-to-air missiles capable of shooting down israeli jets... in order to protect the Lebanese people and their infrastructure from Israeli bombs.

Go to any e-commerce sites (Amazon, Buy.com, Circuit city, any other music or movie review site & so on....) that you could leave reviews on. Go there everyday and leave some sort of 9/11 truth infos there. Especially on site like Amazon where you could give a reviews on almost anythings. Go find the most recent TOP ten CD or DVD or upcoming releases or most popular or most sold and flood those pages with 9/11 truth comments (make sure you give them link to 9/11 truth pages). Post some on other popular items too, like TVs, bags, clothes.... we need to reach all ages.

There is an interesting

There is an interesting juxtaposition between tonight's ABC-TV Nightline broadcast and this Washington Post article, especially in the context of near-simultaneous CSpan coverage and the release of the Moussaoui trial evidence.

Seems to me there's an internal war going on inside the Administration.

It brings to mind the comment made by David Ray Griffin in the Q&A session after his presentation in Wisconsin about how the Bush administration policies will eventually be seen to be bad for mainstream American business and that they would move to bring down the Bush administration, and that 9/11 would be the means for doing it.

Rachel Maddow was actually covering this, but I caught it late and thought she was talking about Vanity Fair, not the Washington Post. Anyway, what's so interesting about this development is that FAA was the one scapegoated for getting everything wrong. Remember how some timelines on intercepts shifted a lot? Look at Flight 93...they changed the intercept notification time 51 minutes, so FAA was hung out to dry.
