NEW YORK (Associated Press) - A judge says developer Larry Silverstein cannot recover more from the aviation industry than the $2.8 billion value of the World Trade Center if his lawsuits succeed.

Federal Judge Alvin Hellerstein made the determination in a ruling filed Thursday. The decision carried Wednesday's date.

Hellerstein rejected Silverstein's claims that his company would be entitled to as much as $16.2 billion from American Airlines, United Airlines and other aviation defendants.

A lawsuit on behalf of Silverstein's companies claimed that negligence by the airlines allowed the terrorists to hijack planes that struck the twin towers on Sept. 11, 2001.

The aviation defendants denied liability.

A call to Silverstein's lawyer wasn't immediately returned. Top of page

F---- Him

There is something terribly wrong with this picture. You mean to say he can receive billions of dollars in an insurance settlement and then sue the airlines but the victim families have no recourse if they accepted the measly compensation (aka bribe) from the government? This is crazy. I can only hope that like OJ Simpson, this culpable rat pushes it just a little too far and winds up with his ass behind bars -- like tomorrow. Give me a f---ing break.

You took the words

right out of my mouth.

How To Pay Mossad For Work Delivered

I suspect this might be the payment method for Mossad's involvement in 9/11. Instead of writing them a check, which might serve as evidence, simply arrange a Mossad representative to take hold of the WTC property six months prior to the job and have ready the estimated amount of the payoff in Insurance coverage. The WTC was a White Elephant after all and plans had already been drawn up to estimate the cost of dismantling the giant buildings. It was an insane, Larry made an obvious irrational business move. It's clear he attained the property for some alternative reason. Now he's suing them again. Perhaps the men and women who ordered the attacks tried to short the Mossad, or perhaps the Mossad is trying to shake down the corporate titans and international bankers. They deserve each other. The Fortune 100 has interlocks with government and military and intelligence like no other network on the planet and Wall Street is a nest of multinational low lives. I guess it's clear why Larry Silverstein's new WTC 7 is the shiniest building down around Wall Street since the attacks. He's the most stand out lowlife among them all.

re: F--- Him

But you see, Silverstein lost property -- and property more expensive than the average American can afford, too -- and property always trumps life (i.e. people's lives) in our plutocratic, capitalist state-of-affairs. Especially the property people like Silverstein can afford.

Larry

Larry is dreadful.

Is this guy even human?

Is this guy even human?

No, it is a RAT!

As in pull your head out of your ass you criminal rat bastard! You won't see another dime's profit from your participation in this criminal scheme. Someday justice will be served. May you never rest and always be looking over your shoulder.

Pls don't insult Rats.

Please don't insult Rats,

as in people born in the Year of the Rat, like myself.

Mr. Silverstein is most likely a Year of the Monkey, anyway.

Cute jokes aside, I find it amazing that Mr. Silverstein can be so openly craven and greedy, but this is America after all.

My guess is that if this goes forward, it will get settled out of court with the vast amounts of cash floating around, maybe even some TARP money.

The truth shall set us free. Love is the only way forward.

This Could Backfire

This could backfire for the official 9/11 narrative. The airlines will do all they can to defend themselves, including throwing the light on the Federal government's pre-knowledge of upcoming attacks in the summer of 2001 involving hijacked aircraft.

Calling Sibel Edmonds!

Silverstein better watch out, or he could end up like former CIA director William Colby!

I say let him sue.

After all, if he is claiming that the Airlines are liable for the destruction of the World Trade Center. Then that would make him liable for the deaths of the occupants of the Word Trade Center when it collapsed. I would love to see all the family members start filing lawsuits against Silverstien Properties.

The airlines tried to get

CIA and FBI officials to testify in the families' wrongful death suits. The government claimed that allowing their testimony would jeopardize national security. It it doubtful that Hellerstein will rule against the government on this matter. AFAIK, most of the cases have settled (one of the conditions of the settlements was a non disclosure agreement). I'm not even sure if any of the remaining cases have even gone to trial. It appears Silverstein has a pretty good case considering the airlines have already settled most of the families' cases.

IMO the excessive secrecy (from all sides) has done a vast amount of damage to the country.

Perhaps this has a silver lining

Maybe the media attention this could generate could arouse enough questions and suspiscion from the average American citizen that they will say to themselves. "I am sick of all my money going to crooked, rich bastards and I want to know why this man thinks the Airlines are responsible for something like this when they have not been found guilty for any other hijackings and subsequesnt deaths." He can go ahead and sue, but I feel the average citizen is beginning to get fed up with bailouts and backroom deals. It is obvious to anyone that looks at this for 5 minutes that all the pieces don't add up, and when you see that he got, what was it, over $7 billion from insurance, and now he wants more from the airlines, they are not going to stand for it. This could be a blessing in disguise. Fury is boiling inside of me, and I am getting so tired of all the fat-cats getting fatter off our hard work and money. It is time to look at this in a rational, and realistic light. I have been seriously ramping up my awakening efforts, and people are so pissed about the economy and demand answers about why it sucks so bad that they are much more willing to look at all the possibilities and look at anybody in the government as a potential criminal. This thing has just begun, and it is gonna get ugly, but we can take these types of events and turn them into a huge awakening by exposing the crooked aspect of coming back for more money and capitalizing off of the deaths of thousands of citizens. The wildfire of what I call the "thirst for truth" is spreading more rapidly than ever, and people are more and mor ready to accept it. I can't believe Larry Silverstein's audacity for trying to get paid yet again over all of this, he must be trying to get more than just money out of it... Seems to me that timing is everything, and this is a last ditch effort to cash in before all his buddies are exiled from power. Okay, my rant is over, thanks for the venue. Please, keep up this awesome coverage of all the retards trying to get away with murder and get paid for doing it. Prison with Bubba would be too kind for Larry, he might learn to love it. I say ship him off to Beech Grove, Indiana or one of the other of hundreds of FEMA camps around the nation and "process" him.

Are Hellerstein & Silverstein

Cousins?

Holy shit, Larry has

Holy shit, Larry has officially gone bye-bye.

A more relevant lawsuit would be ... I dunno ... maybe one against Boston Logan for not having a single surveillance camera on the morning of 9/11, from which both of the planes that destroyed his precious property departed?

You'd think the airlines would..

ask old Larry to prove the planes brought down the buildings.

All you can do

is pray for people like Lucky Larry. He is so evil he is beyond human aid.
