Obama Team Rolls Out New Web Site That Takes Questions From Public

This is pretty interesting: An Obama aide points out to us that the Obama transition team has just rolled out an innovative new feature on its Web site, hoping to carry through on the President-elect's campaign promises of greater government transparency.
It's a page entitled "Open For Questions," in which anyone can submit questions to the transition and, subsequently, to the administration.
The rub, though, is this: The public is able to vote on how much they'd like certain queries to be a priority, and the voting tally is visible -- which means it'll be tougher for the Obama team to not answer questions that participants clearly want answered.
Here's how it works: Users get three options in voting on a question. They can vote in favor of a question being answered; they can vote against it being answered; or they can flag the question as inappropriate.
The Obama team is clearly exposing itself to a bit of a risk here. It could find itself choosing between answering an uncomfortable question and ducking one that the public is clamoring for an answer to. And if the state of the country fails to improve (or gets even worse) over the next few years, the public could also end up registering more and more negative questions.

Don't buy into their propaganda, which when targeted for domestic consumption has been tagged with the euphemistic moniker Public Relations. Edward Bernays lives on.
I used to be a disc jockey back in the 70s and 80s. When I got to the larger markets, they would have us solicit requests to give the perception that we were responsive to the wants of the listeners. We would even take the request and say, "sure, I will try to work that in for you." The truth was that all of the music was pre selected by a computer program and we hardly ever deviated because of a request. Occasionally we would say, "Jane Doe from Dallas requested this one and here it is." It was all bogus made up shit. There was no Jane Doe, and no request for that song. Sometimes the requested song would happen to come up in the computer rotation and the listener would call and say "Thanks for playing my request". It was just a coincidence.
However, if the owner of the station, or the General Manager called with a request, or if a major advertiser called with a request, we worked it in as soon as we could. If we didn't, our job may be in jeopardy.
This is the kind of bullshit that the Obama people are propagating, only the stakes are much higher. Just the same, they are not going to respond to any of this crap. It is PR. If they do respond to any of it, it will be a coincidence. Their paid market research will have told them the same thing. That is, the polls that they use internally, which are statistically sound, randomly sampled and tabulated using accepted statistical formulas. Even then, it may be a PR response, rather than anything of substance.
The way to get Obama to respond is by taking this to the people and building our numbers. If Obama's job depends on it, then he may respond. Otherwise, he won't.

I suspect the results will be reviewed by a Council on Foreign Relations study group to gauge public opinions.
The Obama phenomena is apparently focused on managing the public during radical transitions and regenerating positive opinions.

but not about our 911 questions. They are censoring questions pertaining to the Illinois governor, Blagojevich, who was arrested for trying to sell his senate appointment, which would fill the seat Obama is vacating to become president. The story was linked on drudge and comes from Politico.com.

They don't realize, or at least don't report, that the censorship is actually coming directly from the Obama camp. They are reporting that the censorship is coming from Obama supporters who vote the questions down. We know from our experience that the Obama employees and PR operatives are the censors. They are just using the angle of citizens voting ideas down as another PUBLIC RELATIONS deception, disguising their damage control, message control tactics.

I submitted a question about finding out how Barry Jennings died. If we can vote that up enough, honest viewers of the voting could be moved to do real research.
Didn't work for me
I just went to the site, registered, and tried to vote for several questions but nothing happened. So the site is not working for me. 0 votes were registered. I think this is some PR gambit on Obama's part, make us feel we're being heard. I sent him an email a few weeks ago, suggesting some progressive choices he could make for cabinet positions. Of course, he did not take my advice. Well, I didn't vote for him, didn't drink the Kool Aide.

I just received this email telling me that my idea is in eighth place. It's been posted for weeks and hasn't been removed. Perhaps we could bump this one into the top 3?
