Osama's book to counter anti-Qaeda campaign

Book to shed light on Qaeda, 9/11 attack | Will highlight atrocities against Muslims

KARACHI: Osama bin Laden, an Arab militant leader, is busy these days writing a book in Arabic language on the struggle the Al Qaeda network that dispenses money and logistical support and training to radical groups and has presence in more than 50 countries.

According to a private television channel on Friday, the book will be later translated into English, as Osama has decided to pen a book on his global organization as a response to the propaganda and insufficient information about the Al Qaeda.

"Osama is writing a book with the assistance of a young man with a Middle Eastern background who will later translate the text into English," the channel reported. The Al Qaeda leader, in his book, has particularly mentioned atrocities being meted out to Muslims in contemporary times by the Western world.

Osama also discusses how the Crusades greatly impacted the growth of the Western influence in world affairs that ultimately helped the US to control oil reserves in the Muslim states. He also holds the US responsible for present global financial crisis. The groundbreaking book also sheds light on the evolution of the Al Qaeda and attack on 110 stories high skyscrapers in New York City, built in 1970 to 1973, and destroyed by a terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. Osama, born in Riyadh on March 10, 1957, is member of the prominent bin Laden family of Saudi Arab.

The Al Qaeda leader has been designated as a terrorist by the US and Western governments, law enforcement agencies, scholars, journalists and analysts. He has been indicted in the US federal court for his alleged involvement in the 1998 US embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya and is on the ten most wanted fugitives list of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Although bin Laden has not been indicted for the September 11, 2001 attacks on the US, he has been reported to have orally claimed responsibility for the attacks in audio and video tapes released to the general public. Some reports suggest Osama earned a degree in civil engineering in 1979, or a degree in public administration in 1981.
