NIST News Release:
The Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will hold a technical briefing at 11 a.m. EDT on August 26, 2008, at its campus in Gaithersburg, Md., on the findings and recommendations from its building and fire safety investigation of the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 (WTC 7). WTC 7 was a 47-story building that fell nearly seven hours after the World Trade Center towers collapsed following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Completed over a three-year period, the NIST WTC 7 investigation presents the probable collapse sequence for the building and provides recommendations for improving building and fire safety in other buildings similar to WTC 7.

Shyam Sunder, director of the NIST Building and Fire Research Laboratory and lead investigator for the federal building and fire safety investigation of the World Trade Center disaster, will present the report and answer questions via webcast from invited technical persons.

You can listen on NO LIES RADIO or you may view the briefing through a live webcast that will be accessible from NIST's WTC Web site at http://wtc.nist.gov. Webcast beginning at 8am PDT / 11am EDT.

I haven't been able to

I haven't been able to access the NoLies page for two days now. Anyone else?

Dragon, the link works for me.

http://noliesradio.org/ works for me with the music playing. I heard the first broadcast. Tuesday is the next one...then there will be an archive. If you want to hear the "ARCHITECTS & ENGINEERS FOR 9/11 TRUTH" response to the NIST press release last Thursday...go to www.AE911Truth.org - Gage, Ryan, and other professionals did a stand-up job on their response to the NIST fairy-tale by Sham. Great data is packed into that AE911Truth response.

I keep getting a DNS

I keep getting a DNS failure.

I heard the conference in response to NIST. I still haven't heard Sunder on No Lies. I don't know where else I can get it?

Well, NIST finally did it,

Well, NIST finally did it, put out their report, and in the preamble of the document tried to tie as many organizations as possible along with it.

The disclaimers in the document were a nice touch, that basically say NIST did not analyze any steel therefore current building codes are more than adequate. Now why would be want to analyze the actual building material? With the best of intentions, perhaps there was a problem with the steel itself or evidence. Yet, it wasn't analyzed because evidence of controlled demolition would be found.

What is really amazing is how much analysis was done after "collapse initiation". At least in WTC7 it mentioned that they ran a high school math formula to say it wasn't exactly free-fall speed (yet still falls in less than 7 seconds) with little analysis. In WTC1 and 2, NIST said they did not look at what happened after the point of collapse initiation, as if to say 'the exploding steel in a mushroom like manner' is not seen, therefore the evidence it provides of explosives is unknown to us.

NIST really is adamant on their computer animation to explain what happened since it can be tweaked any way (and even manipulated down to 'the parameters of what the physics are, e.g. what gravity will be ect.). Without being able to verify the computer modeling independently by in a sense looking at the "source code" of the actual data and parameters and for the public to run modeling programs ourselves, the animation is laughable. With that being said, again, it doesn't take a computer model to analyze the steel at the scene of the crime.

Sunder talked about how

Sunder talked about how reliable their computer modeling is as it has been used to build airplanes successfully. That was never the question though. At least not mine anyway. Any computer program is only as useful or factual as how you choose to apply it. With enough adjustments and tweaks you can produce just about any desired outcome, even a dishonest one. Let's place these same fancy programs in to the hands of experts that WE actually trust and then compare results with that of NIST. But oh yeah, NIST isn't interested in a collaborative effort with their skeptics or even a formal debate because in their own words, “That wouldn't be very productive”. Translation, "My way or the highway".

Also, in the No Lies interview, Sunder seemed to lie about the color of the molten "metal" that was seen dripping from the towers. He said that it had to have been aluminum because it was silvery in appearance. No it wasn't. At least not according to my recollection.
