I spoke to Ray...

Yesterday. He's doing well. The tumor is shrinking. He's only got 6 more weeks of the chemo. For those who were interested.

Edit: "Put our bodies into it." He's quite right. Non-violently.

Edit Part II: "Identify with our brothers." That is EXACTLY what I've tried to do with the families, and responders... exactly. I've tried so often to put myself in their shoes. It helps to motivate me.

Do these people deserve to know how and why their loved ones were murdered? Do we deserve to know how and why 9/11 happened?

Israel Prodding U.S. To Attack Iran

June 24, 2008

(CBS) Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen leaves Tuesday night on an overseas trip that will take him to Israel, reports CBS News national security correspondent David Martin. The trip has been scheduled for some time but U.S. officials say it comes just as the Israelis are mounting a full court press to get the Bush administration to strike Iran's nuclear complex.

CBS consultant Michael Oren says Israel doesn't want to wait for a new administration.

"The Israelis have been assured by the Bush administration that the Bush administration will not allow Iran to nuclearize," Oren said. "Israelis are uncertain about what would be the policies of the next administration vis-à-vis Iran."

Israel's message is simple: If you don't, we will. Israel held a dress rehearsal for a strike earlier this month, but military analysts say Israel can not do it alone.

"Keep in mind that Israel does not have strategic bombers," Oren said. "The Israeli Air Force is not the American Air Force. Israel can not eliminate Iran's nuclear program."

The U.S. with its stealth bombers and cruise missiles has a much greater capability. Vice President Cheney is said to favor a strike, but both Mullen and Defense Secretary Gates are opposed to an attack which could touch off a third war in the region.

U.S. intelligence estimates Iran won't be able to build a weapon until sometime early in the next decade. But Israel is operating on a much shorter timetable.

"The Iranians, according to Israeli security sources, will have an operable nuclear weapon by 2009. That's not a very long time," Oren said.

For now, the Bush administration is counting on new economic sanctions which took effect Tuesday to persuade Iran to give up its nuclear program. But nobody's counting on it.

If stealth mini-sub technology is for real,

aircraft carriers are obsolete. I could see the neocons sinking a carrier along with 3,000 or 4,000 sailors, and blaming it on Iranian mini-subs. Can't you?

War Drums Beating Louder

Come on folks we have all heard this rhythm before we're marching toward war! I disagree with McGovern on one point.............The Iranians seem to be getting suckered with trying to stand up to this threat and promising to retaliate and sending signals that their nuclear program will continue as planned. I don't think Bush is bluffing and he holds the cards to play this out once the pot is big enough. We know Israel is in the game and a number of other players like France seem ready to play. The real question is can this be stopped? 1) Iran could back down now and suspend their nuclear program which would I think would be a very smart move 2) Bush could be impeached - highly unlikely at the moment 3) Half a million people could march on DC to protest for peace - we might get a little press - also seems unlikely. So what else? I'm listening and ready for another option if someone has a suggestion. If not what about plan B ? Do we get out of Dodge before the Draft and Martial Law ? No kidding. This won't be America anymore, where is there to Go?

Sorry about that. Think I'll take the dog for a walk.

where to go ?

Have a acre on the island of Roatan, Honduras... considering splitting in 4 quarters if interested

If Iran is attacked.?. well found this.. hope this will not be the result.
very depressing for us red pill folks

Courage is the most important dimension.

I don't agree protest should be avoided because it might not get enough coverage. In Kevin Barrett's excellent discussion with Chomsky, besides finding out that Chomsky NO LONGER HOLDS THAT WHO DID 9/11 IS IRRELEVANT, he also speaks against a movement that does not believe in public protest. Now. of course some of us DO protest, but it's NOT UNFAIR to associate our movement with such a historically ignorant idea that protest isn't worth it. It's totally reasonable to have preferences as to protest style. Some protests must be judged poorly organized. It's just not reasonable to expect the left to NOT at least use it against us when we speak against protest per se..

I'm ready to storm the capitol !

Set a date and I'll be there. My point was that it seems unlikely we can get 500K in the streets like in the Vietnam era...
