Glenn Greenwald has a new piece out about the Mukasey comments at his blog:

In response to the growing controversy over plainly misleading comments by Attorney General Michael Mukasey last week in San Francisco, and in response to the questions I submitted, the DOJ's Peter Carr, its Principal Deputy Director of Public Affairs, sent me the following email:

In a question-and-answer session after his Commonwealth Club speech last week, Attorney General Mukasey referenced a call between an al Qaeda safe house and a person in the United States. The Attorney General has referred to this before, in the letter he sent with Director of National Intelligence McConnell to Chairman Reyes on February 22, 2008. Own comment: It is clear to me that Mukasey was talking about the Yemen hub. The DoJ is saying that the NSA intercepted calls between the hijackers in the US and al-Qaeda's main global communications that was involved in the 2000 Cole bombing and 1998 embassy attacks, but didn't trace the calls because the law prevented it. That is truly f***ing ludicrous. The NSA was hiding the hijackers from the FBI, the same as the CIA, the same as the DoD.

Two simple questions:
How many calls did the NSA intercept to/from the hijackers in the US?
Where is the NSA inspector general's report on 9/11?
