We recently witnessed the withdrawal of Dennis Kucinich from the Presidential race. Before he was frozen out of the TV debates, he was given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to push not only his candidacy, but also a reform movement organization within the Democratic Party, called the Progressive Democrats of America. If you examine the pdamerica.org web site, you will see that Kucinich and the PDA were a natural fit.

Had Kucinich looked beyond his own candidacy, he might have given the PDA a massive boost in membership. And had the PDA been given a massive boost in membership, the Congressional elections coming up might have had more candidates like Dennis Kucinich elected. A Congress with many Kucinich-like members would be far more likely to pursue 911 Truth, as well as a host of other needed efforts.

Unfortunately, at this point in the lifetime of this very young organization, I don't see where it's making a great deal of difference. Thus, I don't think we're going to see much change in '08, no matter who wins the Presidency. Kucinich has WASTED a major opportunity, and the legacy of his run probably won't be much more than a footnote in the history books. *

From my perspective, the primary factors inhibiting a serious investigation into 911 are not much different from other issues that fester, rather than get solved. They basically boil down to a corrupt and cowardly Congress, which is beholden to moneyed special interests, and a media which colludes with it's Big Business owners to both pacify the public, as well as obscure many issues that, were they fairly investigated and reported, would enrage the public.

The situation is more complicated than this, of course, but I don't want to write a treatise just now....

My point is basically this: When people learn about 911 Truth, just like with many other issues, they don't know what to do. What will you tell them, when they ask?

There are only so many 911 videos one can watch, so many (ignored) emails and letters one can send to a member of Congress, and so many friends and family one can talk to about 911. At the end of the day, though, unless the media is reformed and most of our deadwood Congress is replaced, I'm skeptical much of anything will be attained.

So, I think the best answer to the question "What should I do?" is to challenge the questioner to commit to replacing both our government, and our media. Without telling them what their politics should be, you can point them to both the PDA and RLC, and ask them to get involved with either one. Or, perhaps, they can become active in the Green Party, or some other non-mainstream party.

Furthermore, you can ask them to help participate in replacing our media, in particular TV media, via use of the internet. The path to doing so is not completely clear, but it's outlines are being increasingly glimpsed by more and more people. (It's called "Publicizing Truths with Consequence" - Independent Media Strategy Summit Design). I think within 5 years, most people who watch TV will be getting some of it directly from the internet. But what their choices will be in 5 years will depend on what you and I do today.

An honest government would not have appointed a whitewash Commission to 'investigate', and an honest media would have not only covered 911 fairly and critically, it would have FUNDED its own investigative reporting into 911, itself.

Please don't waste the opportunity to wisely answer the "What should I do?" question.

* To be fair to Kucinich, I did hear today that he did manage to change the debate regarding Iraq a great deal.
