Well, folks, in addition to being targeted by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Ae911truth.org now has inspired the "debunker" side to do an evil twin: ae911truth.info, apparently run by a guy named Joseph Nobles. It is under construction but the core of the site consists of attempted rebuttals to Richard Gage's powerpoint presentation.

Just the first page of this is pretty infuriating to read:

"This is the home page of AE911Truth.info, a site dedicated to exposing the lies and mistakes of Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth. AE911Truth claims to be an advocacy group for engineers and architects who question what they call the "official story" of the 9/11 attacks, but it's really just a front organization that's being used for PR purposes. They pretend to be spreading real and valuable information. Actually their website and presentations are filled with misinformation and lies.

Somebody should stop them, and I take great pleasure in being able to do my part in stopping them. The events of 9/11 are too important to be lied about, and AE911Truth do this again and again.

My name is Joseph Nobles, by the way. I'm a live voice writer and actor, and my interest in the 9/11 Truth Movement comes from my political interests. Many members of the Truth Movement come from the left side of the political spectrum. After all, the main appeal in these conspiracy theories is for people who are already disenchanted with George Bush. And that would be me. I'm more than willing to believe the worst of President Bush and his crooked administration. Indeed, I am the target audience for the 9/11 Truth Movement.

Having said that, I won't make any more political statements on this website (besides a possible paper on the Iraq war as motivation for this organization). There is nothing political about how a building falls down, and this is the main contribution of Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth. I don't have to go into politics to explain how and why those buildings fell. And so I won't be."

Gage's Personal and Professional Reputation

Richard Gage is a mild-mannered, likable person. He generates a great deal of sympathy as a speaker because of this. He seems genuine to me in his desire to see justice done for the 9/11 attacks.

Therefore, the best I can say for him is that he is terribly misguided. His presentation is a mixture of mistakes and outright deceptions on his part. Each will be demonstrated in the course of this critique.

It is a terrible thing to watch a true believer lie for his righteous cause. Such is the spectacle you are about to witness.

The AIA Logo

You will see the logo of the American Institute of Architects all throughout this presentation. The AIA does not endorse this presentation by any stretch of the imagination. Anyone who is a licensed and degreed architect may join this trade association:

"As AIA members, over 80,000 licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners express their commitment to excellence in design and livability in our nation's buildings and communities. Members adhere to a code of ethics and professional conduct that assures the client, the public, and colleagues of an AIA-member architect's dedication to the highest standards in professional practice."

Richard Gage is not engaging in his professional practice here. He is not dealing with the design or the livability of the World Trade Center complex. He is a part of a team that designs and builds buildings, and not part of a team that tears them down.

Therefore, whenever you see the AIA logo, remember that this is an attempt by Gage to enhance his authority to speak about something he has no expertise in. He is propping himself up with this trade association. Don't be fooled.
