I couldn't agree more. Even though Ron Paul isn't backing 9/11 truth, if he does become president I think he would be open to a new investigation into the happenings on 9/11/2001.

Gee, I don't hate religion, nor do I wage war on it, nor is Christmas at risk of ever being a "casualty" with the amount of spending it rakes in for US businesses, I just don't want to live in a Christian Theocracy or amend the Constitution to make it fit ONE religion.

Ron Paul says, "The Founding Fathers envisioned a robustly Christian yet religiously tolerant America, with churches serving as vital institutions that would eclipse the state in importance. "

This is just wrong.

Nowhere in the Constitution does it mention religion, except in exclusionary terms. The words "Jesus Christ, Christianity, Bible, and God" are never mentioned in the Constitution-- not once.

People who are talking about what a great candidate Paul is are ignoring a lot of problems. It's not a bed of roses and he openly says, over and over, that 9/11 was only about government ineptitude, nothing more.

He never mentions the families.

That's wrong.

I don't suppose this is the place to get in a protracted argument about whether Paul is the best presidential candidate regarding all the issues with which a president deals. I think the point of the earlier messages was that (1) like them or not, many Ron Paul activists are people whom the 9/11 truth movement can work with, and (2) though far from perfect on the subject, a Ron Paul in the White House is our best bet among the viable candidates to create an environment favorable for the advance of 9/11 truth.

Okay, I can't resist. You've got many things about Paul wrong. He doesn't support amending the Constitution to allow prayer in schools. (He does, though, as do many scholars, believe there was no legal basis for the federal courts interfering in the education policies, including prayers, in the states.) He's an evolutionist. (Are you confusing him with Huckabee there?) He does oppose automatic citizenship for the "anchor babies" of illegal immigrants. (Do you mean to say that illegals should be rewarded for sneaking into the U.S. so as to have babies to be then granted automatic citizenship?) As with school prayer, he seeks to return policy to the states, in accordance with the Constitution. Nor does the Constitution authorize the federal government to support contraception and "family planning," or invade foreign countries or have a standing covert operations agency like the CIA without a declaration of war. (And if you fear a "population explosion," why don't you oppose easy immigration policies, the overwhelming source of U.S. population growth?) Of course, if the federal government had stuck to its size and scope as authorized by the Constitution that's supposed to bind it, there's no way there would've been an operation like 9/11 in the first place.

Your Paul quote about the Founding Fathers, which you cite dismissively, is actually correct in its understanding. The Founding Fathers wrote about this extensively. (A good overview of the subject can be found in *The Theme Is Freedom*, by M. Stanton Evans [Regnery, 1994].) The idea of not elaborating on religion in the text of the Constitution was that there was to be no favored denomination, but rather a small federal government within which various denominations would be free to flourish in the lives of their voluntary supporters.

That sits well with me. By the way, I've been an agnostic for over 35 years.

Frankly -- and I'm an avid Ron Paul supporter myself -- I'm not at all confident that he'd call for a new investigation. If he's in denial about 9/11, I don't see why he'd want to be calling for the government to investigate itself.

But I do think he and his appointive workers would stop actively covering up the incriminating evidence the way the Bush administration does -- and the way the Clinton/Obama/Edwards/Richardson/Romney/Giuliani/McCain/Thompson cluster of Beltway insider types doubtless have every intention of continuing to do.

In other words, the 9/11 truth movement would remain on its own, but would no longer face determined obstruction by the presidency.
