Stop the Police State Bill

This flawed and dangerous bill , introduced by Rep. Jane Harman, could be the final triumph of fear over reason as the Federal government makes thought a crime under the guise of preemptive National Security, if we allow the Senate to pass it.

Libelous presentations by the Simon Wiesenthal Center at the House hearings have made the intent of this law clear.

S. 1959, The Homegrown Terrorism Act of 2007, sets the stage for 21st century McCarthyism, and I implore you to protect my first amendment right and the Constitution by voting no on this dangerous piece of legislation.

I’m sure you don’t need any reminders of Sen. Joe McCarthy and the hearings on un-American activities, which destroyed people’s lives as well as America’s reputation for freedom and process, and eventually brought McCarthy down.

We have laws on our books that allow law enforcement to prosecute violent crimes and conspiracies. We don’t need a law that criminalizes thought.
