A Message for the 11th and all 9/11 Truth Actions taking place

I posted this on the Truth Action forums, but I think it may be valuable for anyone involved with 9/11 Truth Activism. The 11th of the Month street actions are having a serious effect, so I hope everyone joins us tomorrow for some international street outreach. This is a message for those taking part in activism which has organized around 9/11 Truth specifically. Find your locations and spread the word...http://www.truthaction.org

from the post:

I can't wait to hit the streets with you all again! We have some seriously informed activists planning on showing up so this should be a great 11th of the Month. After the actions I have taken part in, and recent issues I have seen being discussed among 9/11 Truth activists, I felt the need to write out some advice to help us focus our efforts in 9/11 Truth Activism.
As the street actions continue to develop at the amazing rate they already have, it is important for the street actions themselves to stay focused on questioning the truth about 9/11. I'm grateful that all of the activists I have met at the actions are concerned with diverse issues stretching far beyond that of 9/11 Truth. However for the 11th of the Month Truth Actions and other 9/11 based actions, it is important to keep in mind that we are organizing around the issue of the Truth of September 11th specifically. In order for our 9/11 street actions to convey the message effectively, our energies, materials and other elements of the actions should pertain primarily to 9/11 Truth. Some prominent figures in the 9/11 truth movement are very open to addressing many topics and often in their materials and message do not focus on 9/11 specifically. 9/11 was what inspired many of us to take on many of the new diverse subjects we care about. That is why it is so important on our street outreach for 9/11 truth that we focus the action directly on the subject of 9/11 Truth. In order to stir the inspiration which once awakened many of us, we must redouble our efforts to stay focused on the Truth and the subject that has brought us together for a common goal of justice.

and as for some tips on not alienating those we are trying to reach:

Remember not to get insulted when you are ridiculed by the ignorant. If people begin to respond emotionally to our action or call us names, one can easily put it to a stop by pointing out that they are calling people they have never met shameful things in public. When a man started swearing at us once for instance, I took the liberty of pointing out that there were children around. Force the uninformed to look bad by not getting into a petty scuffle. Often the time we spend arguing with people we will not reach is filled with other people who were ready to listen till they heard 9/11 Truth Activists calling people names. The people we reach are those who are relatively already informed about many issues and agree with us on many. This also means that if someone questions us outright, we must not attack them for this skepticism. Even though it is tempting to feel like the ignorant are just dumb so we can call them names and hold things against them, we must not get caught in a trap of looking more ignorant for getting worked up over basic skepticism. It is our own skepticism which allowed us as 9/11 truth activists to become more informed about the topic. The challenge 9/11 Truth Action faces is the challenge to fuel this skepticism in people we have never met before. It is a failed attempt at activism to say, "no, your the zombie! (pick your word)" or saying "have fun being a zombie" to people who wont immediately be open to our information. Calling names is a waste of our time and breath on a day where tons of people are just waiting to wake up. Let's be the cool, informed, peaceful activists we are. Use the upper hand we have of good information and rational discourse. We know the power of the truth. Let's use this tool to crush the lie's of 9/11.

Peace to all you great folks,

This is important.

Another fine example of the National "Security State".

Common response I always get

is "so who do you think did it then?". My response: I don't know who did it that is why we need a new independent investigation. All I know is that the official 9/11 story is not true. This way we focus on the official conspiracy theory and not a conspiracy theory coming from us.

FOR SURE!

People immediately try to put you on the spot with that question, and it is always a good response to tell them that we do not claim to have all the answers like you said metallus. This happened to me close 40 times last Sunday.

Excellent blog, kdub, a very important subject

We must always be the civil, rational ones and point out the emotional and fallacious arguments of the other side.

We must also stay focussed and not introduce side issues that will tend to fracture the truth movement along predictable and well-worn fault lines. Resist the age-old tactic of divide and conquer. The pursuit of 9/11 truth is what brought us together and is what will keep us together.

Kdub, you make critical points here and they cannot be stressed often enough. I frequently find myself working the street with well-meaning people who let their anger, frustration and/or fear seep into their activism, which is sadly self-defeating and easily avoidable.

The truth shall set us free. Love is the only way forward.

The truth is powerful enough

The truth spoken passionately is better than the truth spoken with insults.

It is possible to be both powerful and civil at the same time, and that's what we should try to do. The truth is powerful enough. That's all we need.

BUMP

After 3 years the etiquette which I discuss in this post is still critical to understand and maintain. We much stay classy and cool and NOT be provoked into anger and insults.
