Asner may have been the first major celebrity to speak out. He has always been vociferous -- unafraid of political or social stigma or potential backlash at many times throughout his life. I find it also interesting to note, for those of you who do not know, that Ed is also a Jewish man, having been raised Orthodox. He is also quite active at a Temple here in Los Angeles. He has no religious, political or psychological barriers obstructing his ability to seek the whole truth -- and justice. When I occasionally read of the attempts to demonize certain religious groups (Jews, for example) in some posts--it saddens me. One musn't paint everyone with the same brush.
