Act of State: The Execution of Martin Luther King

William Pepper was a young journalist, just back from Vietnam, when he first met Martin Luther King Jr. His photographs and first-hand accounts of the war prompted King's unflinching commitment to oppose it. On April 15, 1967, Pepper proposed an alternative to the re-election of Lyndon Johnson to a cheering New York crowd. Dr. Benjamin Spock was to be King's running mate highlighting an anti-poverty and antiwar agenda. A year later Martin Luther King Jr. was killed. The movement for social and economic change in the US has never been substantially, successfully revived.
Doubts raised from an initial ten- year investigation and hours of interrogations of James Earl Ray prompted Pepper to take up his case. The King family, persuaded by the growing evidence, joined his struggle in 1996. At the 1999 trial seventy witnesses under oath set out the details of the conspiracy and the jury took an hour to find for the King family. It was ruled that a wide-running conspiracy existed and that government agents were involved. The story was effectively buried.
An Act of State lays out, in hair-raising detail, the facts of the case as it evolved. These tell a tragic story of King's powerful and significant radicalism, government plans for his execution that involved the military and the FBI, media cover-ups, and the corporate forces that were already claiming their hold on the nation's polity.

This Hartford conference looks like a real winner. Thank you everyone for putting it on, this video is absolutely wonderful and provides the proper context for 9/11 truth. I wish I could have been there... but then I say that so often with all the important events around the world being put on all the time now.

C-SPAN Should Have Been There!
Did anyone think to notify C-SPAN to cover this fantastic event?? In 2006 they covered the LA symposium and a couple of other 9/11 truth related events. It would have been nice for this to have been televised as well!
C-SPAN replays its broadcasts and catches many channel surfers. Think about a few hundred thousand more eyeballs watching this....

CSPAN received many, many faxes, letters and emails encouraging them to cover this event. Unfortunately it was met with silence.
To directly experience the media black out on any hing 9/11 Truth related has been very disturbing and even shocking at times. For example, several journalists had expressed deep interest in the event and verbally committed to attending and reporting from the event, only to cancel at the last minute or suddenly not respond to my phone calls after they had tried to clear it with their news director or editor.
The Hartford Courant (which is a tribune paper and the Largest Paper in CT (also did some of the best MM work on the anthrax attack) would not even include the simple announcement of our event in their town events listings!!! When we we called the events director, she said that there must not have been enough room, yet a quick look at the paper would reveal that had plenty of room to announce : 2 bake sales, a ski swap, and a knitting circle!!!
When I expressed my astonishment at this to Patty Casazza, she said, at one time, she had done over seven hours of interviews at her home with a major network, only to have them broadcast only two minutes!
This what we are up against, but I encourage people to continue to personally reach out to their local journalists....I was amazed at their general ignorance of the subject but equally encouraged that they were very interested in covering all of this when properly and calmly informed of the facts..... if only they were allowed.
On the plus side, I know this was quite an education for some of them,.... for you don't really hit the glass walls and ceilings of our mas media until you innocently try to step out and bruise your curious nose.

We've experienced the same blackout up here in Canada.
The most depressing of which was when the Justice Institute building (where police officers and other law enforcement personnel train) cancelled our booking of the venue for a free presentation by William Rodriguez for no reason... everyone who works to keep the 9/11 truth movement under wraps has to answer to their own conscience in the end, but we're in the vast majority and will prevail.

This is an EXCELENT ANALYSIS OF THE FALSE LEFT-RIGHT PARADIGM the American Political Landscape has.
I do hope those who doubt this will seriously research and look into it.
This speech by Dr. William Pepper is comprehensive and all encompasing.
He speaks about a New York Commision being formed in the later stage of his speech.
Something we should look into and support if it is seriously viable.
At approx -10:50 onwards he speaks about saving the republic with a new investigation on 911.
"In New York City, there is likely to be a referendum, a ballot initiative put on the 2008 Ballot which will ASK the VOTERS OF NYC - do you want to have a new independent commision that reinvestigates ALL of the events of 911 and in our view that VOTE will overwhelmingly YES.
And so that it is likely that there will be a Commision formed in the City of New York, but it will consist of people from ALL OVER THE WORLD. It will have people of incredible integrity whose words will not be challenged, I mean I have been speaking to people.
I have been one of the people in the forefront of putting this together,I've been speaking to people like Desmond Tutu for example, Lincoln Chafee from Rhode Island....Chafee was incensed with what happened with the previous Commision, called it a farce. He said, "Bill this is an absolute farce. I was ASHAMED to be a member of the government. Of course I will to whatever I can do and join such a Commision".
Then Dr Pepper goes on to say : So, I think we are on the verge of putting that group together.Now we will have subpoena power..........

Too early for me to endorse fully such an initiative but I suggest we support ALL sincere efforts to re-investigate.
We should NOT however, put ALL our eggs in one basket.
Multiple strategies, multiples angles, engage this dark forces from multiple points.
Death by a thousand cuts.
In Summary,
Dr. Pepper's work is exemplary, possibly controversial, especially his viewpoints on Hugo Chavez.
However, whichever end of the political spectrum one is from, it would be unwise to ignore what this man has to say and to pay attention to his serious sobering words.
It is time to see the Sunrise of Truth.

By what Authority and Force will it have suppena power?
Who will tag the New York 911 Presidential Poll with a new 911 Investigation?

Personally I would trust the Family members spearheading a REAL INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION.
They will have NO ULTERIOR MOTIVE.

GOP tactic meant to embarrass Dems on bill to impeach Cheney

WASHINGTON — House Democrats on Tuesday narrowly managed to avert a bruising debate on a proposal to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney after Republicans, in a surprise maneuver, voted in favor of taking up the measure.
Republicans, changing course midway through a vote, tried to force Democrats into a debate on the resolution sponsored by long-shot presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich.
The anti-war Ohio Democrat's resolution accuses Cheney of purposely leading the country into war against Iraq.
The GOP tactics reversed what had been expected to be an overwhelming vote to table, or kill, the resolution.
Midway through the vote, with instructions from the GOP leadership, Republicans one by one changed their votes from yes — to kill the resolution — to no, trying to force the chamber into a debate and an up-or-down vote on the proposal.
The Houston-area delegation split, with Republicans John Culberson of Houston, Michael McCaul of Austin and Ted Poe of Humble heeding the request to keep the motion alive to embarrass the Democrats.
GOP Reps. Kevin Brady of The Woodlands and Ron Paul of Lake Jackson voted to kill the measure, as did Democrat Nick Lampson of Stafford. Houston Democrats Al Green, Gene Green and Sheila Jackson-Lee all voted to keep the impeachment resolution alive.
"I believe that it is important that we hold our leaders responsible for their acts and their failures to act," Jackson Lee said.
