I must admit that when I first heard about this event, I was wondering if it might be counter-productive. Thankfully those feelings were short-lived.

Bill Maher threw down the gauntlet when he attacked our movement. He needs to be answered….EVERY DAY. And I hope wearechange has committed to do just that….make this a daily occurrence on his show.

We have been backed into a corner, and like the proverbial scorpion, the world needs to feel our sting. The left wing politicos have betrayed our country in this matter. The corporate media has betrayed our country. What recourse do we have? Civil disobedience? By any means necessary? We can debate this issue in our ranks, but remember, as we do so, the neo-con machine continues its goosestep toward fascism, and we cannot let that happen. Our very lives are at stake.

Some of you feel these tactics will piss off the general public and force our movement underground. Let’s face it, we are already underground, thanks to the fascist machinations of our domestic enemies.

I would like to suggest an alternate possible scenario: we start shouting as loud as we can, as often as we can and in as many venues as we can. Yes, many of our fellow Americans, whose lives and freedoms we are also fighting for, will be very pissed off. And as the subject begins to emerge into the light of day, even those who violently oppose us will begin to demand rational debates, just to shut the loonies up. But that won’t be the end result. For as we all know, as the facts are revealed, so is the truth. That is the path that lead every one of us to our awareness on this issue.

I say we have no other recourse. Time is of the essence.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. And I do think that non-violent physical resistance (civil disobedience if you will) is an inevitable next step. In fact it should already be in the planning stages by now.

Furthermore, I would like to suggest that the next Bill Maher strike play out in the following fashion:

A dozen of our people rise as one and start chanting “building #7, building #7”. The Real Time goons cant be in a dozen places at once, and this will surely shut down Maher’s live show for several minutes, not just a few seconds at a time. If this happens on a regular basis, the show will have no other recourse than to go to tape, and that too will be national news.

One added plus that we will all love to see: Bill just might try to assist the goons, as he pretended to do this time, and get his ass thoroughly whupped.

I would pay to see that.

Yikes!~ I don't know if this is in our favor? I mean the audience wasn't very sympathetic, whatever airs is not particularly sympathetic. Protesters in the audience who questioned what happened to WTC7 are called 'nut cases' and there isn't any debate. The studio audience laughs. Hmmmm. How does this promote a discussion? How does it promote debate? I'm in favor of civil disobedience when it clearly achieves something, but otherwise it is not advisable. I liked LA's video response--that was brilliant and viewed by lots of people hopefully. Now THAT is effective. It is a rebuttal and explains and entertains. Ask the question: do you feel that the actions of the protesters at this show created a climate for debate? Did they get to present an argument? How does this open people's minds who don't know anything about this issue? If someone had actually been able to ask a question, that would be different. Think about how different it was for Meyer to get tasered for asking a series of on point questions! Now that was, in my view, more substantial and offered some content. In this case, the only content is 'wtc7'... and if you think that's enough, well, okay, maybe it is. But I personally don't think so.

Bravo WeAreChangeLA! This was well-executed. I completely endorse civil disobedience and disruption where necessary-- and this was necessary. Maher got his just desserts. He attacked and ridiculed our movement and refuses to have any 9/11 Truhers on as guests to set the record straight. We must generate our own media. Publicity by any means short of physical violence.

It is known by other names, as forms, techniques, methods, etc., such as "civil disobedience", "non-cooperation", "peaceful resistance", "nonviolent resistance", "passive resistance", "non-violent direct action", and others.

It behooves people to know about it, although, in my experience, there will always be those who are against it, as well as other things, like simple protesting. (with accompanying excuses, like one person said to me once (an Animal Welfarist, which is typical), "I tried protesting once – it wasn't a lot of fun")

Some people are against it because it is "too radical", others use being against it as a way to justify their non-participation in it, for all of the many reasons why someone would not want to participate (embarrassment, shyness, lack of courage, insufficient level of commitment, etc.), and, like all things, there are a variety of issues involved and interconnected. (I never bad-mouth people who choose to not become involved in CD, and that tends to be a common reaction)

Throughout, however, there is always a common thread — performing all actions in a non-violent manner, which is of utmost importance.

Thanks for putting the record straight.! It is certainly clear that he has himself to blame for what is going to happen. Makes me think of soneone else who said “Bring ’em on!”.

It is a discussion-worthy concern, and those that voted you down don't understand that you don't mean to demean the movement. 9/11 Truth is ineffably important. Finding the right words, and venue to publicize them is of utmost importance. While it is frustrating to deal with a gatekeeping Left that has blacked out most issues concerning the Military-Industrial-Complex, from JFK forward, heckling Bill Maher is not going to bring any watershed opportunity to this movement. This movement is as important as the Civil Rights Movement and will need the same level of non-violent, vocal, in-yr-face defiance as that movement. Bill Maher is Archie Bunker. You don't attack Archie Bunker, you attack the system that celebrates, lionizes, and perpetuates Archie Bunker. Or Bill Maher. Or Amy Goodman. Unfortunately for this movement, Bill Maher will not align himself with this movement for the obvious reasons: it is professionally impractical, it is a political taboo, and his audience is as 'liberal' as Rush Limbaugh's is 'conservative. This thread has earned more comments than any I've seen on 9/11 Blogger in a LONG time. I think that's awesome - more people commenting means more people are on this site, means more people are researching and defying the 9/11 Big Lie. I don't know. I don't know if heckling Bill Maher is the answer. At the same time, let's keep the light shining for truth. Those that have never heard of 9/11 Truth (and there are still more that are unaware than those that are) might be turned on by Maher's incensed audience. Maher's 'Paxil' new rule was certainly a battlecry, and the People are responding. IN CONCLUSION, I agree with Bruce Lee in that there are most definitely better forums for the debate, while at the same time, there is no debate left - just the fight. I don't think heckling Bill Maher is the answer, but since it has come down to it, it certainly is exciting to know that his audience is being infiltrated by Truthers at every taping. It speaks to the growth of this movement, which is important.

These people may not 'like' the 911 Truthers right now...but I guarantee they will go home and one day....they will cross paths with 911 Truth again.

They will remember that '911 truth stuff' they heard about. Not all will become interested but many will look at the important issue we are all helping to bring attention to. They will join.

You are saying we 'look bad'. The fact is that no matter what 911 Truthers do the 'main stream' that you are pleading with us to pander to...will report it badly.

Who's pandering to anyone? What I'm saying is that Bill Maher and other people like him should be confronted with a demonstration that's hard not to respect, i.e. saying something to him along the lines of "The families called for a new investigation, and you ignored it!!!" - Gold’s already said that and it's what I'm talking about. Yelling "don't taze me bro" and stuff about "WTC 7 falling faster than the sands in NJ" whatever that means will be confusing to most people, and off putting. I understand why these guys did what they did, but I don't think it makes us look that good, sorry if the "majority don't agree" with that, but it’s the way I see it.
