FBI Refuses To Confirm Identities Of 4 Aircraft Used During 9/11 Attacks

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for documentation confirming the recovery and positive identification of debris from the commercial aircraft allegedly used in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 (N334AA, N612UA, N644AA, N591UA), has been denied.
An appeal is pending.
According to the FBI, "the material requested is located in an investigative file which is exempt from disclosure pursuant to Title 5, United States Code, Section 552, subsection (b) (7) (A)."
This subsection reads: "could be reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings."

Concerns of compromising any related, unspecified and presumably pending "enforcement proceedings" did not prevent the release of government exhibits containing images of aircraft debris allegedly of United Airlines flight 93 and American Airlines flight 77, following the successful prosecution of alleged 9/11 co-conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui, on May 4, 2006:

One of the darkest moments I've ever been through.
When I heard that motherfucker Hayden rewrite the 4th Amendment merely by saying so, and then REPEATING it... I just about shot 8 '230 grains' through my monitor. here on this site seems to be agreed on is that there WERE planes that hit the towers, why do you suppose they are so reluctant to produce any parts?? Ups - I guess I'm sounding like a "nut case", etc. Actually i'm an agnostic on the subject. It just amazes me how some of you can be so sure of yourselves - so sure that you are willing to cause a deep divide, call out your opponents as "cointelpro", etc.

Regarding the plane parts, if "Operation Northwoods" was followed to the letter, then the plane parts would be correct anyway (with an added RC mod or two).
i.e.
8. It is possible to create an incident which will demonstrate convincingly that a Cuban aircraft has attacked and shot down a chartered civil airliner enroute from the United States to Jamaica, Guatemala, Panama or Venezuela. The destination would be chosen only to cause the flight plan route to cross Cuba. The passengers could be a group of college students off on a holiday or any grouping of persons with a common interest to support chartering a non-scheduled flight.
a. An aircraft at Eglin AFB would be painted and numbered as an exact duplicate for a civil registered aircraft belonging to a CIA proprietary organization in the Miami area. At a designated time the duplicate would be substituted for the actual civil aircraft and would be loaded with the selected passengers, all boarded under carefully prepared aliases. The actual registered aircraft would be converted to a drone.
b. Take off times of the drone aircraft and the actual aircraft will be scheduled to allow a rendezvous south of Florida. From the rendezvous point the passenger-carrying aircraft will descend to minimum altitude and go directly into an auxiliary field at Eglin AFB where arrangements will have been made to evacuate the passengers and return the aircraft to its original status. The drone aircraft meanwhile will continue to fly the filed flight plan. When over Cuba the drone will being transmitting on the international distress frequency a "MAY DAY" message stating he is under attack by Cuban MIG aircraft. The transmission will be interrupted by destruction of the aircraft which will be triggered by radio signal. This will allow ICAO radio

-it could be that producing plane parts would cause a problem of matching serial numbers - in the drone or swithed plane scenario. Or it could be that there were no planes hitting the towers, as some have argued.

It would be interesting to learn what the chain of ownership was on those planes. Did American and United buy them brand new from Boeing? Were they bought from another airline? I bring this up because I know that El Al, Israel's national airline, sold off some of their 757s and 767s about a year before the attacks. I wonder if any of those planes they sold ended up in the fleets of AAL and UAL, and were among the four used on 9/11?

As an additional duty, aircraft maintenance officers are occasionally tasked as members of aircraft accident investigation boards and my personal experience was no exception. In 1989 I graduated from the Aircraft Mishap Investigation Course at the Institute of Safety and Systems Management at the University of Southern California. In addition to my direct participation as an aircraft accident investigator, I reviewed countless aircraft accident investigation reports for thoroughness and comprehensive conclusions for the Inspector General, HQ Pacific Air Forces during the height of the Vietnam conflict.
In all my years of direct and indirect participation, I never witnessed nor even heard of an aircraft loss, where the wreckage was accessible, that prevented investigators from finding enough hard evidence to positively identify the make, model, and specific registration number of the aircraft — and in most cases the precise cause of the accident. This is because every military and civilian passenger-carrying aircraft have many parts that are identified for safety of flight. That is, if any of the parts were to fail at any time during a flight, the failure would likely result in the catastrophic loss of aircraft and passengers. Consequently, these parts are individually controlled by a distinctive serial number and tracked by a records section of the maintenance operation and by another section called plans and scheduling.
