I have to say that despite all the hurdles which have tripped up various folk in the movement to uncover the real events of 9/11, we have gotten one thing right, and that is laying claim to the title "Truth Movement". This is a very effective psychological plus, and one of which Karl Rove would have been proud, that is, if he was on our side of the fence! Just a couple of short years ago, the phrase "nutty conspiracy theorists", rather than "9/11 Truther" was the operative descriptor for anyone who doubted the official version to any extent.
To many in the mainstream, that may still be true, but judging by a number of recent opinion polls, exactly what is the mainstream position of the American public on the government's 9/11 explanation? In a recent CBS poll, only 16% implicitly believed the government's story: 53% believed they are covering up something, and 28% believe they are outright lying, while 3% didn't venture an opinion. An MSNBC poll found 62% of those polled thought that the government were covering up the truth. Although not strictly a scientifically rigorous poll, the sample size was significant, with over 70,000 respondents! If the poll had been done to scientific standards, the percentage of those believing the government story may have been larger.. but it might also have been smaller.... one never knows! A recent CNN poll yielded an extraordinary result, while other polls from Zogby and Scripps have also yielded quite a zing, albeit not quite so spectacular.
The mainstream of thought regarding the validity of the government's own conspiracy theory is thus now in some considerable dispute. Just from personal experience, I talk to people from all walks of life, and from all social , cultural and economic backgrounds, and quite often the subject of 9/11 comes up. A couple of years ago, my position would have been widely regarded as "weird", but now, I find many people are at least in some degree of concurrence, and some people even go further than my current position. I am finding more and more that the people are starting to be able to reflect on that day in a more rational and dispassionate light, now that time has rendered the raw edges of shock and emotion of that awful day a little less jagged. People are beginning, en masse, to realize the impossibilities, improbabilities, absurdities and bizarreness of the Bush Administration's wacko story, and not just in America, but all over the world. Even rural English market towns have their own 9/11 Truth branches! Here is one of many examples! The more digging that people do, the more convinced they become that the basic things that they learned from the mainstream media are not only very wanting, but also plainly bogus.
We are starting to circle the wagons. But there is one thing of paramount importance for anyone in the Truth Movement to be aware of, and this is as follows:
Don't publicly theorize with insufficient knowledge. We do not know for sure, and much of the necessary evidence has either been destroyed (illegally), or is being kept secret. The only people who know exactly what went down that day are the perpetrators, and of course they are not saying anything. We may have to wait for a "deathbed confession" for a full answer, and that may never be forthcoming.
If you start hypothesizing, armed with not enough of the necessary facts and figures to put forward a scientifically rigorous and unimpeachable theory, some other party, armed with the facts that you don't have, will punch holes in your case. This flawed approach is how the "turf" problems arise: Someone's "Theory A" is seen as flawed, or incomplete, by another party, who puts out their version, "Theory B", and insodoing, attacks the other theorist by default. Then a third party "C" puts out another version, with facts that have not been taken into consideration by either "A" and "B". And so on, and so on. When one realizes that the entire 9/11 scenario is multifaceted, and this petty squabbling is embroiling so many different parties, addressing all the numerous facets of 9/11, then one can appreciate just how complex this interparty petty battling and bickering has become. Disinformation from official parties is also a large part of the equation and has been used to inflitrate all aspects of the attacks, to further muddy the waters, or even poison the well. All this serves to take energy away from the researchers in the 9/11 Truth Movement; the parties who stand to gain by this petty squabbling amongst their nemeses, are the perpetrators, who calmly sit back in their well accustomed Macchiavellian way, and say "just perfect, let them fight amongst themselves".
The only surefire way of bringing down the mass murderers of 9/11, is to ASK THE DIFFICULT QUESTIONS, and keep on asking them. Be like an angry pitbull, and grab hold of any exposed and verifiable anomaly and absurdity, or lie, or contradiction, and bite as hard as you can, and don't ever let go. We have no shortage of issues and anomalies; there are literally hundreds of them. For some people, it maybe the issue of the presidential Secret Service detail's conduct, together with that of President Bush himself, and the truly extraordinary things Bush himself has said, on the record, about that day. For others, it may be the issue of why jets were not scrambled to defend the East Coast. For others, the blatant contradictions between the NTSB's FDR data for Flight 77, and the government's story of what happened at the Pentagon may be the issue that gets them at at.
We must not try to construct a story about any aspect of the attacks, unless we have all the facts about that particular aspect of the attacks at our disposal. And those facts have to be verified, or reported by a mainstream source, or be peer reviewed, or more. Without taking out these insurances, we are doomed to potential ridicule. The opposition is not only very powerful, but they are now very frightened by recent turns of events; unlike their heady days of 4 and 5 years ago, things are not going their way, and they will seize upon anything to discredit their opponents. So, now is the time to ask the questions, and not make up stories with incomplete evidence. At some point, the pressure of conscience will get one, or more of the perps to squeal and confess. Let them tell it the way it happened, prodded by relentless questioning, rather than trying to second guess them, based on an incomplete picture.

The fact that the OV has so many holes and has been alowed to slide proves people in power(with a few exceptions like Cynthia McKinney) WERE NOT asking these questions, constantly and relentlessly, until we either had answers or had enough to start criminal proceedings.
We need a new investiagtion, YESTERDAY.
Impeachment. Accountability. A better world.
Asking questions highlights the need for new investigations
and that is exactly what we want.
Unsupported speculation with fellow truthers can be fun, but we must maintain discipline and stay on message when doing educational work with the public and politicians we need to begin lobbying immediately.
One more point: The 9/11 Truth movement's grassroots diversity is its main strength. There is no efficient or effective way to counter so many groups coming from so many places with no single leader or defined group of leaders. This is why some moles are trying to get the Truth movement to organize around a definable group or single individual.
While we do need to become more organized and begin acting in concert with each other while increasing the tempo of our activities, we should always maintain a certain level of independence and self-reliance.
We are trying to counter "terrorism" after all. Thus a limited "cell" structure can be advantageous.
We have the truth on our side, stay strong and SMILE.

And he's selectively deleting 9/11 Truth related stories as soon as he becomes aware of them. And, to top it all off, he's begging his readers to go to the page and vote on what's left. Polls are not evidence. BUT THEY ARE!
No not physical evidence, but they are evidence of the change of opinion of most Americans. Right after the False-Flag attacks of 911 and being told whodunnit and how maybe 2 in a hundred people doubted the "official" conspiracy theory. Now after many years many millions have seen the PHYSICAL EVIDENCE the numbers have changed. The awakening goes one way. No one who was originally skeptical of the "official" story has changed their mind. Most of those believing what they were told who look a little deeper abandon their childish beliefs and admit that they were conned.

That seemed to work for lots of people, because a case was cleverly woven with lies for them.
While we absolutely DO have evidence, and will use it to obtain indictments and further evidence in the form of testimony, we will also make our case with the people not with lies but with facts.
Whether or not anyone can be ultimately proved guilty beyond a reasonable doubt is not the point--that would be just for criminal charges anyway. Civil cases will be much easier to use to suck every last penny from the perps, a la OJ.
And just like OJ, people will know who really did what, and will adjust their world view accordingly. You simplify the scope of our efforts at your risk, shill. You have NO idea what you and the perps have gotten yourselves into!
Doesn't it suck when you have no idea what's going to happen to you because your delusions about absolute power have crumbled around you? For a time I actually felt bad for some of the perps' apologists, those who were truly deceived (or so I thought), now I realize that so many people must know and just don't want it to come out. I will always be strongly in favor of peace and reconciliation, but at this point it's hardly up to people like me--the holdouts are creating a very dangerous situation for themselves and those they think they are helping.
It's going to be the sad coda to this whole tawdry affair--the innocents who will, as usual, pay the price for the wicked deeds of others.

Ok. I saw Loose Change when it first came out and was intrigued. I never thought to question any of the ridiculous claims in that "movie" and believed it at face value. Mix that with the fact that I hated GW and his nitwit administration and I was instantly brainwashed. I kept visiting 911blogger and the Scholar's site and rarely looked elsewhere for information.
I started to change because I saw the movement start to eat itself from the inside. Twoofers against Twoofers. The movement was debating within itself and nobody could agree on what the Conspiracy actually was! Was it buildings, phone calls, arabs or no arabs, planes or no plane, missles or jets, bombs or lasers and on and on and on and on. Within your movement you have hundreds of different conspiracies...covering every single second of that day. Hundreds. You've torn apart every second prior to and every moment since and squeezed each minute to find something that proves 9/11 was an inside job. You don't care what it is that will prove this. I realized that not every second of that day could be called into questions...and since the movement couldn't even agree on which things to focus on...then perhaps nothing is questionable. If I said "vote" then somebody must be counting the votes. I wonder if the Polls are accurate. I used to think my vote counted during political elections but then I learned that the voting machines could be manipulated. Great post! Very parallel with our thinking over at TruthMove.org. While the admins at 911Blogger could just collect and present the news, they instead take a stand for reason and progress. And the lot of them seem to have a fair understanding of the movements strengths and weaknesses.
We do have weaknesses. That means you. But in sharing our talents and working together, we overcome our personal weaknesses, and achieve something greater than any one of us alone could manifest. It is wise to know when to ask for directions.

I agree with the spirit of what you're saying. But in practice there is a difference between simple disagreement, vigorous debate, trolling and personal attacks. Yes, I put trolling above personal attacks because they are simply disruptive as opposed to attacks which in the face to face world could get you sued, arrested or 86'd.
You always confront people who attack you personally, especially if it would be criminal or border on criminal behavior. For instance, one troll asked me if I took it up the ass. Hello, sexual harassment--in the real world.YOU NEVER LET SOMETHING LIKE THIS SLIDE. You cooly confront them, point out what could happen in the real world, and if they don't stop, go to the administration. In my case I challenged him to a face-to-face. Shut him up right quick. And, no, I wasn't bluffing. With such people only an IMMEDIATE display of force will stop them.
As for the lesser baiters, sometimes what you suggest will work, sometimes not. Look at Bert and Ernie--anonymous trolls-- they got those names because they would follow Chris and Jon Gold EVERYWHERE with nothing remotely constructive to say but childish mockery. Jon and Chris DID NOT provoke this. Ignoring them WAS NOT working. But 'naming', mockery and exposure has helped others not to get sucked into their shite.
I agree we shouldn't let ourselves be baited. But, much as in real life, ignoring a bully doesn't make them go away unless you have MUCH MORE POWER than they do. They just keep pushing until dominance is established or they're stopped. That's their basic psychology.
So, what will work? Much as in real life, when someone is rude, out of line, or REALLY out of line, the first step is to confront them in anyway that will make it clear you are not an easy target. They refuse to stop their behavior? Point out it is against the rules and they need to stop or you will notify the moderators. Still don't stop? WITHOUT HESITITION notify the moderators. That seems like it'll cover all bases, right?
