International Poll: No Consensus On Who Was Behind 9/11

College Park, MD—A new WorldPublicOpinion.org poll of 17 nations finds that majorities in only nine of them believe that al Qaeda was behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States.

In no country does a majority agree on another possible perpetrator, but in most countries significant minorities cite the US government itself and, in a few countries, Israel. These responses were given spontaneously to an open-ended question that did not offer response options.

On average, 46 percent say that al Qaeda was behind the attacks while 15 percent say the US government, seven percent Israel, and seven percent some other perpetrator. One in four say they do not know.

A wistful recollection remains with me from the Los Angeles Grand Jury for 9/11 Truth two years ago.

A Mexican wedding was in progress in another part of the hall. We activists brushed shoulders with the Hispanic guests in the common areas, without exchanging words or scarcely even glances, as if moving in separate dimensions. Surely our issue could be vital to them, too? I racked my brains to think of what might bridge the gap, only to come up against a feeling that to them, we must seem hopelessly white middle-class, and our issue an arcane matter of concern only to an infighting gringo faction.

Yet any nation is naturally more apt than the Anglo-American to recognize 9/11 for what it is: an instrument for projecting the empire. Hispanics have a historical consciousness of deception and war provocation from the Norteamericano wars on Mexico in 1846 and Spain in 1898. So each time I had a 9/11 book that was selling well – first The War on Freedom and later 9/11 Synthetic Terror – I had high hopes of finding a Spanish publisher, but it hasn't been easy.

Amazingly perceptive analysis of the primaries by Tarpley, who convinces Jeff Rense that Hitlery Clinton is the lesser of three evil options -
the other two being Obama with Dr. Zbig Strangelove's war on Russia program in foreign policy and hyper-reactionary social agenda
and the GOP ticket of psychotic McCain with foreign agent Lieberman
The clou is where he shows that Obama is unelectable because he appeals only to a tiny group of wealthy liberal Democrats
That's the worst thing about Obama - he will give the White House back to the fascist Republican party
This all fits in with Tarpley's paradigm of the 36 or 40 year party realignment cycle which is now upon us
With Hitlery, this will realign away from the horrible southern strategy that has ruined the US since Nixon
It will be a new alignment of a "bi-coastal, urban southwestern coalition" which will be a much more positive force for the next cycle.
With McCain we go into another fascist cycle.
The US has alternated between positive and negative 40 year cycles. We've never had two bad ones in a row.

The Nov. 5-11 initiative has especially enjoyed the moral support of No. California 911 Truth activist Carol Brouillet. This year the publicity vehicle chosen was a postcard for Halloween and anti-war events. For the design, Kevin Barrett suggested a motif using a smiling and a frowning “V” mask, representing the two websites. A design and text were prepared by Camille, winner of the No. Calif. 911 Truth art contest.

Anybody know about blasting caps or detonators that self-destruct?

The triumphant statement by a " demolition expert" on the History Channel that he saw no detonation cord, wiring or remnants of blasting caps at Ground Zero has given courage to OCT supporters.

This has come up in a long-running debate I'm running on an industry forum. The latest rejoinder I got was this

"you have not produced one blasting cap, nor one piece of wiring"

What I could find on the Web on the subject was all about detection of

A. detonators before they explode, or
B. explosives by means of chemical taggants after the blast

but nothing about detecting remnants of detonators post-blast (except that "stealth explosives" has been used as a term of ridicule for the controlled demolition argument.)

Re A, I found this: "Plastic weapons, plastic detonators, explosives enclosed into plastic cases and plastic mines are very difficult to detect."

I am beginning to suspect that the problem of detectability might actually be the other way around.

You might think to yourself it might not be possible to assemble the leading experts in the United States around the same table because of the unfortunate atmosphere that has broken out in our movement….
I wanted to propose from my point of view the following formula for how we can cooperate, because I think this is obviously what we need to do. Don’t be scandalized by the word cooperation.
We have to recognize that on the one side there is a sphere of theoretical discussion. In this any serious scientific hypothesis, historical, philosophical hypothesis can be discussed, should not be banned, should not be censored.

Proponents of the micro-nuke theory of controlled demolition have argued that the molten metal found weeks after 9/11 cannot be explained by thermite, since fire requires oxygen. They say the red-hot metal underground proves that nuclear devices were used on 9/11.

It was pretty easy to find the error in the above argument. Thermite does not require atmospheric oxygen in order to burn, so a thermite fire could continue burning underground.

Thermite is a mixture of iron oxide and aluminum.
THE OXYGEN FOR THE REACTION IS PROVIDED BY THE IRON OXIDE.

Here is the equation:

FE2 O3 + 2AL ---> AL2 O3 + 2 FE
Thermite = Iron Oxide + Aluminium ---> Aluminium Oxide + Iron + Heat

The same amount of oxygen goes into and comes out of the reaction; it just changes over from iron oxide to aluminium oxide.

This makes sense - if the reaction depended on oxygen from the air, it wouldn't burn so hot.
Air is only about 20% oxygen and is also very diluted being a gas, compared to a solid like iron oxide - that's why some rockets use solid fuel.

The West needs more terror attacks on the scale of 9/11 and 7/7 in order to save a failing foreign policy, according to Lt.-Col. Doug Delaney, chair of the war studies program at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario.

"The key to bolstering Western resolve is another terrorist attack like 9/11 or the London transit bombings of two years ago. If nothing happens, it will be harder still to say this [the occupation of Iraq] is necessary" Delaney told the Toronto Star.

Prisonplanet.com asks, "By this logic, if terrorist attacks only boost the geopolitical agenda of Western governments then how is it in their interest to prevent them?"

Similarly, former Republican Senator Rick Santorum predicted this past weekend that "unfortunate events" would occur that will change Americans' views of the war.

And, "Last month, the new chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party Dennis Milligan said that there needed to be more attacks on American soil for President Bush to regain popular approval."

Kevin Barrett has got back in the news again, and the Wisconsin TV station has put up a poll question on their website today,

Just now there were only 314 votes, with 61% saying No Way and only 33% saying Yes, definitely.
We have a chance to turn that around.

Kevin of course is the professor and 9/11 Truth Activist who has come under heavy fire from neocons in Wisconsin who are pressing hard to have him fired for his views on 9/11.

Kevin's website is www.mujca.com, the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance. He converted to Islam after marrying a Moroccan woman, and has recently taught a course on Islam at U. of Wisconsin.
